LG V10: What is this part called and where can I get one?

This part is glued to both volume button backs (internal) and to the big plate attached to the fingerprint scanner. The volume and power button flex assembly rests on top of it.

Its profile is that of the 3 button assembly—volume up “button” on top, power button below that, and the volume down “button” below that.

Watch this from 0:50 to 2:00 to see part removed and glued back in place. (Scroll down a bit to see video start button.)

UPDATE: 9/26/18

Zhu at Witrigs.com calls it a “gasket”. Looks like one. But a longer name (a la the “volume and power button flex”) would be helpful since I’d like a new one.

Zhu at Witrigs.com is sending me a used one from a phone that’s been taken apart. We’ll see how much it helps. As it turns out, I have “all 3 pieces” of the gasket. Two had been glued separately to the volume buttons, the other had been glued over 100% of its surface to the fingerprint sensor. (This is a refurbished phone that Verizon sent as warranty replacement after previous 3 didn’t work at all well.)

LG V10: power issues(?) causing phone to resist powering on

Hello

I have an Lg V10 that i have not dropped and has no water dammage. Yesterday after showing no problems my phone powered itself off, going through the logos to do so (no sudden power loss). It was not plugged in at the time and i believe the battery still had power. it vibrated weakly as it shut down.

I have tested multiple batterys in it at various levels of charge and was able to only get a reaction every so often (3 times so far) the 1st got to the boot screen and crashed, 2nd got there and stayed there and i had o remove the battery, 3rd time let me get into the factory reset menu than crashed.

When connected to my computer it detects the phone and find my android confirms that it hasn't been powered on so i doubt it has screen issues.

I can charge a battery in it still so it is not the power in circuits (I think)

however even a full battery doesn't seem to change anything, is it possible that this is the power discharge circuit?

If you have any ideas on this i would love to hear them.

EDIT:

I managed to get it to the hard reset screen and confirm, i start to erase and it crashed after about a minute

LG V10: Charging but not getting detected by laptop & crazy battery drain

Hi Guys,

I'm unable to connect my v10 to my windows laptop or any other OS or laptop. I always get an error message saying, USB Device not recognized. However, the only thing I can do is Charge my phone with it.

About the device,

Android Version: 7.0

ROM: Stock

SW Version: V30a-HKG-XX

I've tried almost everything. The following are what I've tried

1. Rebooting the phone and connecting again,

2. Tried on different laptop/computers, with linux and mac too,

3. Replaced the micro usb port,

4. Fiddled with device manager on windows, uninstalled drivers, reinstalled,

5. Tested with different data cables,

6. Tried connecting OTG usb drives,

7. Booting into Fastboot to see if it gets recognized there,

8. Updated from MM to Nougat,

9. Enabled USB Debugging, under dev options,

10. Enabled MTP, under dev options

All of the above did nothing to solve the problem.

I believe the data cables on the microusb port are fine and there maybe something wrong with the motherboard. Please tell me if I'm correct with this inference. if yes, then what may be done to solve this.

Please guys, suggest what maybe wrong and what can be done to fix it. I'd really Love & Hope it if there is a simple fix to it

Thanks.

LG V10: LG V10 boot loops, freezes, and fails to boot (activate LCD).

I'm aware this documented problem also affects the G3, G4, and G5.

Logic board is cleared of all personal data, so this has become my tinkering project of the month.

I'm fooling around with copper shims and copper tape. I have created very mild LCD discoloration around the area with the copper. I will gladly tolerate this cosmetic flaw.

Ready to use a hot air station on the logic board. What size tip should I use, and what heat and time settings should I use for a poor-man's reflow? I have tried before on low settings (150 deg C) with a wide tip. It did little to change the behavior of the phone. I also have access to an IR/temp gun to gauge surface temperature.

This is the Verizon version (VS990).

LG V10: LCD screen not working after replacement.

Theory:

If you put the screws in the wrong order, is it possible for the screen to not work?

Actual problem:

At the moment, I have a perfectly working screen. However, the moment I put the back lid on and screw everything in place, the entire LCD doesn’t come on anymore.

Question:

How can this be fixed?

NOTE:

The phone had water damage but the motherboard has also been replaced and the phone was treated for water damage as well.

Step already undertaken:

1. I have tested the screen by replacing all parts by (original) parts from a working LG V10. and the screen worked perfectly.

2. I have assembled the entire phone except for the side railing, the screws and the back cover. Without these three parts, the LCD works perfectly as well.

3. All current parts have also been tested by putting these to work in an already working phone. Every part works fine.
