LG Refrigerator: Why is my refrigerator not cooling?

We have an LG Fridge that's been with us for about 6 years. It's one of those 3 door fridges with the water dispenser on it. Our freezer compartment broke, and we have not used it since. The refrigerator itself was working about 2 weeks ago. Then we noticed that the fridge is slightly warm—like almost room temperature warm. What can I do to make our fridge cold again? I don't want to spend $100 + for the repairman to come and fix it. Is there a DIY guide that I can do?

I have a LMXS30776S/00 with both the refrigerator and freezer not cooling properly. Checked compressor (appears to be working), fans working, cleaned coils, no help.

Performed the voltage test on the main control board - CON201 (1&4 pin) after pressing the test switch. Voltage got up to ~50V Max. Left connector off and noticed LED blinking three times. Main Control Board? Thanks Brian

LG Refrigerator LFX28978: LG in-door icemaker won't dump ice into the bin

The tray fills up with water and freezes but won’t dump ice into the bin. Model LFX28978ST/02. The unit adds more and more water to the tray that is already filled with ice, so water runs out the door, down the side, and puddles on the floor. When I push the reset button the tray does INDEED turn, so the motor works. If I melt the ice block with a hair dryer and remove it from the tray, the icemaker seems to work in that it fills the tray with the right amount of water, it freezes, and then I can dump the normal cubes into the bin manually, using the reset button. If I don’t dump the ice manually, though, it never gets dumped, more water keeps getting added to the tray, the tray fills up to overflowing with ice, and I get water on the floor again.

LG Refrigerator: LG Fridge lfxs30766s not cooling after coil cleaning

I have the lfxs30766s model and the freezer and fridge are not cooling. I have unplugged and plugged the unit back in with 33F temp for fridge and -4F temp for Freezer with the Ice Plus ON as recommended by LG and it didn’t work. I have already cleaned the coils. My fridge has a solid state relay (I believe) with an overload capacitor. Capacitor seems OK. I checked the large CAP on the PCB and it’s OK. I removed CON201, verified the voltage the got up to 200VAC, pressed the test button, heard several beeps, but no LED. I then plugged back in the CON201 and restarted the unit and did not see any LEDs. I hear the compressor kicking on and the fan starts. I left the fridge powered overnight and this morning it was still warm in the fridge and freezer. What can I check next?

LG Refrigerator: What are the 3 flashes of green light on back of LG fridge?

My freezer wasn’t getting cold enough on my LG french door fridge. I replaced the thermistor. When I turned it back on, the green light on the mother board started flashing 3 times, and the compressor no longer vibrated. I let it sit overnight, unplugged. When I started it in the morning, the interior fans were blowing harder, than prior to thermistor installation, and the green light is still flashing. The compressor was working prior to part change, and no longer vibrating now. 3 flashing lights mean one of 3 things- loose wire, PCB bad, loose ground. None of these apply. Why doesn’t the compressor vibrate immediately after the change of part? Could it be a faulty part? BTW, the “plugs” at the end of the wires are NOT easy to remove. I had to call a neighbor to put some muscle into it.

Does this sound like a board problem or the unity inside the top of the refrigerator part?

LG Refrigerator: LG Refrigerator and Freezer not cold

I have an Lg French door refrigerator with an in door ice maker. It is 2 years old. The refrigerator and freezer arent cold. The compressor is working as well as the compressor fan. The condenser is clean and free of dirt. I took the inside of the refrigerator apart and evaporator fan and ice maker fan are both working. One of the lines going into the evaporator is a little cold but mostly the lines are warm on the evaporator coil. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I had two different techs over to look at it and they both told me something different. Thanks so much

LG Refrigerator LMXS28626: How to test evaporator fan with 4 colored cables?

My fridge and freezer are not getting cold, and I'm trying to find the problem. The compressor and the condenser fan in the rear are both running.

I'm trying to check evaporator fans, but how do I use my multimeter (or a battery) to test these evaporator fans that have 4 colored cables: red, black, yellow, purple? Should I just apply 12v DC to the red and black and see if it spins?

Edit: if I check continuity (ohms) on the red and black I do get a reading other than Open Loop so seems OK.

The evaporator panel seems to have a thermistor too(?) and that also tested OK for continuity.

I'm not sure what else to check or where to find other thermistors.

LG Refrigerator LFXS28968: LG refrigerator LFXS28968S won't drop ice into bucket

I have an LG refrigerator model LFXS28968S/11 (ASTCNA1 variant) that won't drop ice into bucket. If I remove the ice bucket and press the test button on the ice maker, the ice tray rotates completely and drops ice. It then returns to home position and fills with water. The water then freezes, the tray turns a tiny bit like 10-15 degrees - then stops.

Its under warranty still. They've sent someone out twice and it still doesn't work. They replaced the ice maker (just the ice maker - not the entire assembly that includes the interior door panel and bucket auger motor) and the new ice maker behaves exactly as the original one did.

Second visit they replaced the main logic board on the back of the fridge, I also got a new ice bucket, and they came with a new ice maker assembly kit - this part includes the interior door panel and the auger motor, but it was the wrong part. Looked identical, but the connector on the harness was different, so it wasn't installed. But same thing after logic board replacement - tray fills with ice, it starts to rotate ice tray when it's frozen, but it stops rotating and doesn't get anywhere near far enough along in the rotation process to drop ice.

Any ideas what could be the problem? I do wish they had been able to replace the whole ice maker assembly kit, since the more complete kit with the door panel includes the optical sensors that tell if the ice bucket is full. I was wondering if those were bad and they are why the ice tray stops part way. I posed this hypothesis to the repair technician , but he believed if the bucket full sensor was tripped that the tray shouldn't attempt dropping ice at all, which seems reasonable to me.

This 2.5 year old LG fridge replaced a Samsung RF263BEAESR/AA fridge that Samsung bought back 100% due to five service visits over ice buildup on the fan and evaporator coils. Because of that experience I got an extended warranty on the LG.
