Nexus 4: I have a non responsive touch screen. Can I recover my data?

I purchased my Nexus 4 during the first Wave. I received my phone a day before I left on a tour across the country. Mid way through the tour, the device slipped out of my pocket on to the floor. It was it's first fall, and it was a fatal one. There is a large crack across the screen, and the screen doesn't respond to any touch input. The display still works fine though. But the glass seems to be pressed to close as I can see the liquid crystal move a bit when I try to use it. I did not have the device in USB Mass Storage mode and I had yet to unlock the bootloader. After numerous calls to both google and LG...they claim they can do nothing for me in terms of recovering the data.

Is there any way to recover what I have on the phone at all? Better yet, is there anyway to repair the screen? I will even go as far as purchasing a new phone, removing the main board from my original N4 and placing it in the new one if it would work.

EDIT: Figured I should update and thank anyone who's responded. The utility mentioned bellow is amazing. However, unless the phone has USB debugging enabled, there isn't much hope. As far has I know the N4 stock cannot function as a USB host. So for now, my N4 sits idle on a self until I decide to replace the screen. It's just amazing...four small cracks towards the top, and the touch screen is simply dead. I have an HTC One S where over 70% of the display is completely shattered, and shards are missing as well...and it still functions perfectly. Thanks everyone for the insight...and remember to turn usb debugging on : (

Nexus 5: Nexus 5 Low Volume Speaker Issue

I wonder if you have an opinion about the speaker issue and the XDA mod with the Nexus 5? One of the features you take for granted in a phone is its sound quality. Everybody oohs and aahs about screen size and processor speed, but a seemingly insignificant and overlooked component, such as a speaker, can ruin a device. Do you think a software update can fix this, or should I consider the XDA mod. It looks simple enough.

Nexus 5: Connected and responsive, but not charging. "0%, not charging"

I'm fixing this Nexus 5 right now, and I've tried everything. I've replaced the charging flex cable, but that wasn't the problem. I've cleaned every component with isopropyl thingy. Still no result. The telephone shuts off immidiatly if i unplug the AC adapter. I've tried checking the voltage on the battery input on the motherboard, and it was 4,30V. Is that correct? And now I'm stuck, I have no solution on my mind and that's why I'm asking you!

Nexus 5X: Cracked Glass Covering the Camera

The glass covering the camera on the back of my Nexus 5X recently cracked. To prevent shards of glass falling off in my pocket, I removed the entire piece of glass. Now my camera will not focus (even after carefully cleaning the exposed camera lens).

1. If I replaced the glass the covered the camera, would that also correct the focus issue? Or because it cannot focus without the glass, should I assume the camera lens has been damaged as well?

2. Where can I purchase a replacement glass cover? Google and LG did not offer any replacement part purchasing options for this phone.

Nexus 5: Nexus 5 Touch Screen stopped working

okay so I dropped my phone in water, I know, lame but here is what is going on:

After I did that, I opened the phone up, placed it on rice for a few days.

It turns on fine, it rings, I get notifications and for about 5 minutes, I was able to use it but then the touchscreen stopped working.

It does not recognize touch at all. It did off and on for a few more times after that.

I placed it in rice again for another day with no improvement.

I am wondering if someone can help me diagnose the issue so I can do the repairs myself. I do not know what to look for in terms of whether or not I need a new touch screen all together or a new digitizer?

Nexus 4: Touchscreen not working after display change

After dropping my Nexus 4 and breaking the front glas, the touch screen did not work anymore. I decided to change the full display unit (digitizer + LCD). I have now replaced the display unit with a new one and connected everything as it was before. Turning on the phone worked instantly and the new LCD shows a flawless starting screen. However, the touch functionality does not work at all. So now I'm wondering if I made a mistake in reassembling the phone or if the new display unit is defective. Is there anything I might have missed? Or is there a way to test if the problem lies with the display unit or the rest of the phone?

I should note that I got the new display from ebay and while it certainly is new, I assume it's not an original part. I also noticed that my old unit had some sort of shielding on top of the chip that is right above the digitizer connector, my new unit does not have this shielding...

Any help would be appreciated!
