LG G5: GPS Not working well at all

Are there any ways to fix the gps on the LG G5? Where is the antenna located? I've found several fixes and tried a couple. Getting better contact with some of the pins has helped but its temporary. I only get one satellite to connect currently which is better than the none I had before. Help?!

A lot of G5's out there are experiencing GPS issues. This is definitely a defective hardware because I've tried fixing it with software like gps calibration. I called verizon and they said that there have been G5's going in to replace the GPS Gasket. Does anyone know what that is and can point it out?

LG G5: Rear-facing camera won't focus

The rear-facing 16MP camera (not the wide angle) will no longer focus. I've tried all the usual software fixes (factory reset, etc.). I can actually hear a mechanism inside the phone "trying" to focus, but it seems to be locked into the nearest focal point.

Before I send this thing back for warranty replacement (which involves fixing an old, busted LG G3 first so I'm not without a phone for two weeks), does anyone have a suggestion about how to fix it? I'm not particularly inclined to disassemble the G5, but I thought I'd at least check to see if anyone else has run into this problem.

LG G5: half the screen has dark lines

Half of my screen has dark lines going through the left side of the screen and it will not respond to my touch. The battery is also overheating each time I put it to charge. What do I need to do to fix both of these issues?

LG G5: Proximity Sensor after screen replacement

Hello!

I just had my LG G5's screen replaced after it got cracked. However, now as soon as I dial a call, the screen goes black (locks itself). Similarly, if I am making a call on whatsapp, as soon as I dial the call the Whatsapp screen locks itself!

I understand that this might have something to do with a proximity sensor? The person who repaired the screen for me has no idea about how to fix this unfortunately so I am a bit stuck here.

Anyone else faced similar issues? I have tried resetting the phone as well as calibrating the sensors.

Would appreciate some assistance.

LG G5: Repairing & cleaning a water damaged LG G5 (Backlight not working)

Hello!

I recently left my phone in the pouring rain for about 10-15 minutes (long story, i'm an idiot basically) and now I'm left with a dead back light. After sitting in rice for about 3-4 days, everything was working perfectly other than the "auto" brightness option (it would just stay on whatever setting I left it at). But recently my back light decided to give up completely and I'm only able to /barely/ read my phone by shining a flashlight on it. As far as I can tell, everything else seems to be working fine!

It's been a little over two weeks since the incident (backlight stopped working 3 days ago) and I KNOW I shouldn't have waited this long to take apart my phone, but I was terrified to do it until now~

So my question is -- Are there any areas that I need to NOT get isopropyl alchohol on? I know I need to use something stronger than 90% so I'll have to go search for that :p

And after cleaning everything, do you think if I replace the LCD screen WITH the frame attached, it will fix my backlight issue?

LG G5: Ringtone Setting not understood

I cant work out how to assign different ringtones to different callers in my contacts list. I can enter edit mode in contacts view and change notification sound, and can change group membership, but I cannot change ringtone. I have tried it with the fiull contacts file copied from Google to Phone...makes no difference. I cannot see how to copy contacts to the SIM...maybe that is what is required..? Can anyone help please..?

My LG G5 wifi works good at 5ghz , but at 2.4ghz the signal is poor. And the Bluetooth signal is bad too unless I put my moto360 at the screen of the phone. So I wonder maybe it lacks a wifi & Bluetooth antenna.Can you tell me where is the antenna? I can get a new one then install it。

LG G5: Accidentally broke a little tab off the motherboard

There is a small tab with 2 metal connectors that is right beside the battery connection on the motherboard. It also seems to slide into the phone base. Broke this off by accident. However the phone still charges, and the speaker and mic still work. Anyone know what it does?

LG G5: Front Camera not detected and Rear Camera distorted

So my LG G5 has this problem, the wide angle rear camera doesn't work in the camera app because the camera app thinks it's the front camera, so I have to switch to the front camera in the camera app, and it'll show the wide angle camera. The problem with this is that it's all distorted. Not only is that, but the front camera may be broken, I want to confirm here, I checked the cameras in AIDA64, and it only shows the 2 rear cameras connected, it doesn't show the front cam at all, anywhere, as if there was no front cam plugged in. I was thinking if I should replace the front camera. Can anyone confirm or anyone else have this problem?

LG G5: Availability of spare parts for LG G5

One reason the LG G5 got such a good ifixit-rating for repairability is the modularity of the components.

From a practical point of view, I wonder how easy it might be for me to get spare parts in a few years (within the next 3 to 6 years). This determines how useful the fact of the modular components is for me to repair the phone.

I'm not very experienced, so my questions to the makers here: from your experience, how realistic is it that I would be able to get spare parts in a few years if something breaks.

LG G5: Power Button not working

Hi, On my LG G5 power button stopped working. phone won't turn on or off but finger scanner is working and I used for a week by tapping the screen to turn on/off. Today I pulled battery out, to figure out that it may help to reset but in vain. Now phone won't turn on as of power button. Any advice to fix existing one or I need to get replaced power button.

LG G5: Replacement 16mp rear camera is unfocused and "nodding"

The replacement camera focus is stuck and blurry, the quality looks arguably worse, and it "nods".

When I hold the camera still, the camera shifts downwards then back to the centre (when holding portrait-view-- left/right in landscape). You can see the camera lens move if you look directly at it.

I'm not sure what to do to fix this, or did I get a faulty one? When I opened the package, the camera was at the bottom of the box and not cushioned in-between the packing material so could it have been damaged during shipping.

Dropped my lg g5 down the toilet I have dried it out and it seems to work but the touch screen comes on but does not respond when trying to access it but when the phone goes into stand by and you tap the screen it comes on but does not respond to touch is this a fault with the proximity sensor or the screen

Hi , my phone was dropped into water about 5sec and immediately jump out the pool, i get out the battery and put into rice. After desoxidation i turn on and screen working as well, but touch screen not. I bought another screen, but the problem still there. So i picture my board and zoom in.

Can someone help me ?

EDIT: touch screen work immediately right when i turn the display on and he becomes a little crazy and stop working.
