LG G5: Phone keeps vibrating repeatedly when plugged in. (LG G5)

I recently purchased a phone lot off of eBay just for fun, and I wanted to test it for myself. When I plug it in (with a USB-C cable), it repeatedly vibrates. The vibration patterns change whenever I unplug it and plug it back in for some reason. Is there any explanation for this behavior?

Clarification Edit: When I plug in the phone, the LCD’s backlight should light up displaying the charging symbol, but it doesn’t appear to do that. Instead, the phone vibrates at random intervals. However, when I hold down the power button, the vibrating stops.

LG G5: Why my wifi and bluetooth do not turn on?

Hi,

I bought my new phone and started over heating using wifi and charging the phone. I was using the original charging device. After a while the wifi and the bluetooth won't turn on. I factory reseted the device and have it up to date. And still both wont turn on. Is there a repair for the antenna? Is a hardware issue o a software issue?? Where is the antenna located?

LG G5: How do I turn the knockon feature back on?

Phone model: LG-H850

Hardware version: Rev 1.0

Android version: 8.0.0

Build number: OPR1.170623.032

Software version: V30f-EUR-XX

For those of you who don’t know - LG phones come with a feature called knock on, which allows you to double-tap on the screen to turn the screen off, and double tap again to turn it back on. I’ve always been an avid user of this feature as the power button is situated on the back of the phone, so it’s a convenient feature for when the phone is flat on a surface.

Some time ago, the feature stopped working entirely. I can’t pinpoint an exact moment or update when this happened. Since I’ve noticed the feature being disabled, I’ve tried the following things:

Checked for software updates for both apps and android. None are available.

Uninstalled all recently installed apps.

Tested the touch screen to make sure it wasn’t just an issue with me tapping a broken part. Touch screen works perfectly.

Tested the proximity sensor to see if it was an issue with that. Proximity sensor is working perfectly.

Installed various “hidden setting” apps to access the knock on feature. Unfortunately the knock on feature is never available in the list, which is strange. It’s almost like the entire feature vanished from my phone overnight.

Installed different launchers as some youtube videos recommended this, to no avail.

I have not yet done a factory reset, and would like to avoid this if at all possible, but if someone has reason to believe this will fix the issue at hand, please let me know.

Could anyone recommend how to fix this issue, regardless of whether it’s a software or hardware fix? I’m totally comfortable with taking the phone apart if need be, but if I can solve it with a settings tweak that would of course be preferable.

Thank you in advance!

LG G5: Replace LG G5 SE (H840) screen assebly with one for LG G5 (H850)

Hello everyone!

So my sister has been using her phone (LG G5 SE) with cracked glass for some time now. Since I would be able to fix that pretty easily I wondered where I could get a replacement display assembly. Parts specifically for the G5 SE seem to be more expensive and only available from dealers in other countries.

Some online dealers claim that their part is compatible with both.

Does anybody have experience in that regard? Can I replace the G5 SE screen with one for the regular LG G5?

Thanks in advance!

LG G5: I'm at loss. No GSM signal.

First of all - hello, it’s my first question here.

I have a problem with my G5 - no signal reception at all, in settings/phone info/network it shows 0dbm 0asu. Before it worked great, but the problem started after replacing fingerprint scanner, screen and USB port in the bottom module.

Since I know the GSM antenna is in the bottom module you attach the battery to, to troubleshoot the problem I’m using the CamPlus module which I know for a fact has working antenna.

Next thing the Internet told me, that some people break off a small tab on PCB that goes into the module, and that’s causing issues with reception. But as seen on provided pictures - it’s in one piece and looks ok…

I have also tried different back (bought used) to no avail. I’m providing some pictures, so maybe someone will spot a problem I couldn’t?

LG G5: Low earspeaker volume on LG G5

about 2 weeks ago my ear speaker volume went really quiet even though the volume was cranked way up. Tried cleaning the mesh, tried everything I can find on the internet to test and did discover through a hidden test menu that it shows the volume at 4 and max is 7… But there is no explanation on how to change it. I was able to make the volume a little louder when dialing my voicemail but the setting doesn’t stay loud. Physically the volume rocker works and has no issues going up or down on all other volume settings.

I almost threw my phone on the ground a few times out of frustration…

LG G5: Is the LCD/DIgitizer the same for all G5 models? All Frames the same?

Hi:

And, it seems there are differences (per part listing descriptions) in the screen FRAMES that Prevents all the models from being interchangeable. Is this true, and if so are there any work-arounds or do I just have to get the exact frame for a particular model… or always use the existing frame and do the extra repair work?

LG G5: Bottom 'chin' stuck in place

Hey there! Got a T-Mobile G5 (H830) used a bit ago, and I wanted to swap the battery out as it’s clearly a bit worn.

But I’ve managed to find out that the chin is stuck in place! Pressing the button doesn’t do anything, nor does applying some torque and wiggling the chin around while pressing said button. It seems to be jammed in place somehow. The side opposite the button has a bit more horizontal give, but it doesn’t help much. I’ve attempted levering it out with a plastic pry tool but to no avail.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get it unstuck short of dremeling the thing to bits?
