LG 49UH610V: TV swaps every 2.1s between normal and flickering horizontal scanlines

I have inherited an unwanted LG 49UH610V TV. It exhibits an alternating visual error: half the time the image shows more-or-less normally, with only 2–3 single-pixel lines showing near the top of the display, and the other half of the time the image is unusable, showing numerous single-pixel horizontal lines across the display which contain image data offset by ~30 pixels. The display alternates between the two modes every 63–64 frames in the video I took, suggesting it switches every ~2.13 seconds.

I have tried all of the following without success:

Replacing only the T-con board with a salvaged unit from eBay. No change.

Replacing only the main board with a salvaged unit from eBay. No change.

Replacing both boards at the same time. No change.

Replacing the power supply–main board cable with the one included with the replacement mainboard. No change.

Replacing the main board–T-con board cable with the one included with the replacement mainboard. No change.

Disconnecting each of the T-con–display ribbon cables one at a time. Even worse image or none at all – I can't remember.

Covering various ranges of pins on the T-con–display ribbon cables with Kapton tape, as shown in two YouTube videos: A, B. Even worse image or none at all. ~2.1 second cycle did not go away.

Trying a different power cable (C7/C8 connector). No change.

Applying pressure while the TV is switched on to the long thin PCB at the base of the display that the two ribbon cables from the T-con board connect to. No change.

Based on the fact that I observe no change at all when swapping the T-con board, main board, and two cables mentioned earlier, these components must all working as intended. As far as I can tell, this leaves only the power supply board, the long thin PCB at the base of the display (like in this image), and the panel itself. I haven't taken apart the TV enough to confirm, but I believe the long thin PCB is soldered or otherwise bonded to the panel and therefore cannot be easily replaced. (On a side note, is there a name for this PCB)?

Does my conclusion sound accurate? Do you think this TV can be salvaged without buying a replacement panel?

LG 49UH610V: Flickering TV, lines on the bottom

Hey,

My TV shows a flickering screen with multiple lines. At first some minor flickering occurred and from use to use it worsened. At current state no usable image is recognizable. I opened it up and checked all Connections and also tested, if the backlight was the issue. Non of that fixed my problem. I ordered a replacement PSU board und the TV seemed to work fine again. After about 30min of use the original problem occurred again. I also tried a new mainboard afterwards and nothing seems to fix my issue.

LG 49UH610V: Backlight LEDS not being powered

I have a LG 49UH603V and the screen turned blue. Upon inspection the leds were almost all blue so I ordered a backlight kit to replace them.

I first removed one strip (bottom row, closest to power on button) and replaced it by a new one to check if it was working. It wasn't working but the rest of the old blue leds were turning on. Then I tried to replace the top row to see what was happening but then nothing was turning on.

So I put all the old blue strips back on and still, nothing was lighting up.

All leds (old and new) are working, I tested them.

Then I tried to measure the voltage on the power supply, the led connector on the board gave me (I think) a good reading but the little connectors going into the strips, I couldn't get a normal reading on them.

At this point I think it's useful to inform you that I have no prior knowledge about those things, just a decent sense of logic and access to YouTube. I'm guessing there is an issue with the power supply board but I really have no clue of what the next steps to source the issue should be, would appreciate any help provided :)

LG 49UH610V: Why is the picture freezing then catching up?

Only on Freeview and catch-up services, but not on HDMI inputs, e.g a Fire stick or dvd source, the picture often stalls and then catches up whilst the sound carries on as normal. On BBC iPlayer and a UHD programme this is more noticeable than a SD programme on Freeview.

LG 49UH610V: T-Con, Ribbon cable or the LCD panel

Can some please advise which issue this is likely to be? I think it's a loose ribbon cable the seller says when he tapped the TV it made it worse…

PS was going to use this TV as a donor for mine with a broken panel.

Thank you in advance

LG 49UH610V: Horizontal lines (bottom half of screen that flicker constantly)

TV has never been knocked etc, turned it on this morning and the bottom half of the screen has black/ grey lines that shift/flicker but only the bottom half of the screen.

Top half is still perfectly clear. You can occasionally make out a little bit of the bottom but at this point it's unusable.

Ribbon cable has already been replaced but didn't fix (at suggestion from local technician). Tried hard reset and default settings to no avail.

When ribbon cable is removed, screen doesn't flicker.

Any suggestions?
