Kodak EasyShare C913: Camera not turning on.

I got this camera for my wife. She's been using it without any problem. But after she put it away for a while, the camera would not turn on even with new batteries installed. She probably did not use the camera for 3 months or longer with the batteries in it. Did the batteries ruin it?

Kodak EasyShare C913: Battery door closing clip is broken on front side of door

The front corner of the door has been broken off so the door doesn't seat properly over the batteries to make a connection. Even when holding down the door with new batteries the camera doesn't turn on. Could something else like a contact have been broken off so the positive side of the battery can't make contact when holding battery door shut? Can the battery door be replaced?

Kodak EasyShare C913: mode switch on top is turned 180 degrees

The mode selector switch on top of my Kodak C913 digital camera is turned 180 degrees from normal, making it difficult to determine which mode it is in. The video mode is now on a half-click from stand mode making it difficult to stay in video mode. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

In the image, the blank side of the mode selector should not be facing the notch on the camera body (right of the mode selector) but should be on the opposite side.

I am tempted to just start removing screws to see if I can find a way to change the mode selector back to its normal position, but since it sort of still works, maybe I should leave it alone. It just has a habit of sliding out of video mode since the selector does not lock into a notch in that mode.
