Kitchenware: Repairing a pepper grinder that doesn't grind peppercorns

True, I just paid a dollar for a used hand held pepper grinder that twists rather than has the crank. It looks just about new : shiny, clean, not much wear. But it doesn't grind peppercorns. I have it apart, the mechanism is simple. There are only two screws holding the bottom on. It could be the reason why the person that brought it to thrift store dumped it. But no parts look missing. The grinder wheel is worn but I don't know what is normal for that.

Kitchenware: My Black + Decker toaster oven toasts but doesn't bake

Kitchenware: Nespresso Lattissima One Stuck in Descaling Mode

Hi all,

I've recently bought a Delonghi / Nespresso Lattissima One (EN500.W) on ebay which was sold as faulty. I bought it as a project to try and fix it. Basically its stuck in descaling mode. The pump won't run when the machine is switched on. All the machine does is blink - all of the lights on the top blink rapidly. Pressing any of the three buttons doesn't do anything, no matter how long they are pressed for or in any combination. I've already bought and fitted a replacement pump for it, thinking it was the pump that was faulty. Sadly not; the machine handling exactly the same thing. I'm now at a loss as to what the issue might be. I'm thinking maybe a faulty flowmeter? But I really need some advice from someone with more experience at fixing coffee machines than me to point me in the right direction.

Kitchenware: How do I dry out my double walled travel mug?

I have a double walled travel coffee mug that I like but it seems moisture keeps collecting between the metal inner mug and the clear plastic outer lining. I have tried leaving it in the sun both flipped up and flipped down and cant seem to get it out. In the past it has gone away, but this time I cant get it out.

I have seen suggestions like drilling a hole which I would like to avoid. Is there a way to disassemble this to dry it out ? Or some other way?

Many thanks.

Kitchenware: Leaky Braun drip coffee maker (type 3123/KF 190)

I have a 20 year old Braun drip coffee maker “cappuccino” with steamer wand. It’s great. Would hate to toss it out. BUT for the past couple of months it’s been leaking from the base if the water sits in the tank for any length of time. I tried descaling with vinegar ( though I admit it HAD been a while). Base is attached with one deeply recessed triangular-head screw and a warning says “…Do not remove this cover. No user serviceable parts.” Steamer wand also is not delivering steam to the milk — just air. Not as big of an issue since coffee is daily, and cappuccino— not. Can it be fixed ? Thanks!

Kitchenware: Delonghi ECAM23.450.S EX:3- Milk Frother Issue

Hi all

I've had this machine for many years and it has only been in for repair on twice, which is impressive. However, I'm loathed to spend any more on it because of the age and so I thought I would have a go at fixing it myself.

The issue is that the water spout and milk frother is not delivering water or steam. When you push the Cappuccino button or water delivery button, it just sits there chugging away. The usual noise before delivery, but it doesn't deliver. I'm guessing it's a thermostat or some kind of switch / solenoid?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
