Kitchenaid Dishwasher: Dishwasher does not heat the water or dry the dishes

Hi Everyone, I am trying to get some help with a KitchenAid Dishwasher, Model KUDE60FVSS2, that is having problems with heating the water and drying the dishes.

I read other posts and already have done the following:

1) Replaced Heating Element

2) Replaced High Limit Thermostat

3) Rebooted the Control Board

3) Visually Inspected Control Board (No burns, loose wires)

What continues to happen is:

1) During Normal Wash cycle/Hi-Temp Scrub/Sani-Rinse: The water stays cool (cannot tell if the heating element heats up or not)

2) Heat Dry: The heating element does heat up some - but it does not get hot like it used to.

So, any idea why the water not heat up during any of the cycles? My initial thought was the Hi Limit Thermostat, but I checked it with a Multi-Meter and it has continuity (around 17 ohms). And then I replaced it just to be sure.

Is there an actual thermostat on the dishwasher? (I could not find one in the parts list)

Is there anything else to try before looking at the Control Board?

Kitchenaid dishwasher KDTE104ESS4: No wash cycle Kitchenaid

I have a two year old Kitchenaid kdte104ess2. Replaced inlet pump already and has worked good for a while. Recently it started to not run the wash cycle. I would reset panel and it would run fine for a few days. Getting water and drains fine. No wash through the arms during cycles. Checked float and checked wiring for anything loose. Diagnostic said 6-4 code but again my float clicks and moves freely. I pulled out the other day because now it stopped wash cycle completely even after reset and hard reset at beaker. Did a hard reset and diagnostic. On diagnostic the pump and arm I could here working. Ran a normal cycle and again just fills and drains and fills and sits till the end. Plenty of humidity and heat when I open door but not clean and no wash cycle is heard. Could it be control panel. Again pump worked once on diagnostic so I don’t think it’s that

kitchenaid dishwasher: Dishwasher starts and stops

I have a KitchenAid dishwasher (KDPE234GPS) that will start washing but the pump shuts off after about 2 seconds. Self test shows a code of 4-3 indicating a problem with the wash pump circuit but both the pump and the control board have been replaced. Still has the same problem. The pump starts for only about 2 seconds and then shuts off. It seems to repeat that several times but the wash pump never run for more than 2 seconds.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher: Rinse only cycle works, but not any wash cycles

I replaced the food chopper, because it was worn out. Cleared debris from that sump area, both screens, large and small particulate, and cleaned out spray arms, top and bottom. Ran a Rinse-only cycle to test, results: Pan filled with water, quite rapidly, spray arms sprayed water, water drained at end of the cycle. All looked normal.

Ran a Wash cycle next, to test, but water did not fill dishwasher. Made a grinding noise, as if no water, so I cancelled the cycle, nothing to drain.

Next, turned off circuit breaker for at least one minute. Ran Rinse-only cycle: No issues.

Ran 1-hour wash cycle: Didn't fill with water again. Cancelled.

Ran Rinse-only cycle: No issues.

Ran Heavy-duty cycle: Didn't fill with with water, AGAIN.

Why does it fill, spin, and drain on Rinse-only cycle, but NONE of the Wash Cycles seem to work, even after shutting off power at the circuit breaker several times?

HELP!!! About to give up on this one, though I seem like I'm so close.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher: KitchenAid Dishwasher will not fill

KitchenAide Dishwasher will not fill with water. It makes noise like it’s trying to work…I’ve done the following, to no avail:

Checked that lines are not clogged

verified water pressure to inlet valve

replaced float switch

replaced water inlet valve

Then I began to wonder if I had a drain problem, that may cause my dishwasher to keep from filling, so I verified that the drain line was not obstructed and I checked resistance on my drain motor (33 Ohms, which I believe is fine). The dishwasher was not full of water, only a bit in the line…

Not sure what to do next…?

kitchenaid dishwasher: Dishwasher draining issues not adding up

Dishwasher stops draining at end of cycle. i press ‘cancel’ & it drains completely.

Other Issues: foul smell from disposal even immediately after cleaning. same sludgy pipe smell in dishwasher. I have:

1) Checked/cleared all hoses running from dishwasher, disposal & air gap.- 2) Checked/cleared filter, chopper assembly, drain hose/pump connection. 3)-Snaked pipe going out from wall.

Of Note: there is an Air Gap <ins>and</ins> High Loop on Drain Hose. And i’ve noticed that the rinse aid level has remained at full for several weeks when usually it consistently drops with each use.

My inkling is improper hose pathways, but they look ok to me - or weak drain pump. Any suggestions before i start replacing parts?

Jayeff, thank you for looking at my post, and for the suggestion.

No,i have not tried eliminating the loop, but i will. That’s how it was installed and has been working well for years.

I am attaching a photo with more detail, if you wouldn’t mind... let me know if it looks right.

Also of note: there is always water in the drain hose all the way to the top of the air gap - even when there is no water in the tub. What does this suggest?

I am so baffled- i don’t know which is the more likely fix: replace control board or drain pump. leaning toward new pump.

Update (06/15/2021)

Ok guys, there’s a new twist in my dishwasher drain drama - it has further confused me, but i’m hoping it will make sense to you tech experts.

Before removing the drain pump, as discussed previously in this thread, I ran it… and chose a different wash setting. Our panel always defaults to Normal Wash + Heated Dry. ..b/c that’s what we always use.

I ran it on Light/ China Clean Up - and <ins>no</ins> Heated Dry & guess what? It went full cycle, wash, rinse and drain.. to the end! No stopping and no water left in the tub.

Does this confirm your suspicions of the control board as culprit?

p.s., still full water in air gap line… separate issues?

Kitchenaid Dishwasher: Dishwasher Fills and Doesn't Circulate

Kitchenaid Dishwasher (KDTM404KPS0) will fill with water and "attempt" to progress with cycle...except, that the circulation never starts. All other functions seem to progress (soap door opens, intermittent fill and drain, etc).

Tried putting into diagnostic mode, all LEDs light up (any 3 buttons in succession 3 times). I then hit the second button and close the door and the diagnostic cycle starts.
Washer is just 6 years old and rarely used.

Washer will not heat water. I just replaced the element & high-temp thermostat, but I don’t think they were bad, per resistance readings. I tried a cycle after replacing the two components, still no hot water. I physically touch the heating element during the wash cycle and it was cold.

I have read about resetting the cpu with a sequence of button selections, but none of the descriptions match my keyboard.

I cut the power off to the unit for a few days, hoping that would reset the control board and it would magically fix itself. No luck.

Which button selections do I need to press to enter diagnostic/re-set? What else could cause no-heat besides the control board?

KitchenAid dishwasher: Water disconnected, but tub keeps filling up with water?

This is an older model KitchenAid dishwasher that was not being used anymore. Everything was still hooked up, however. Then I started smelling this nasty odor & I tracked it to the dishwasher. The tub was full of this nasty black water. I got all the water out & sanitized. Then after awhile, here is the tub full again & stinking the place up. Had a plumber come in & disconnect the water going to dishwasher. It is still filling up with water. How is thiss possible? What can I do to remedy this? I can't afford to have someone remove it and then fix the big hole in my cabinet. Help?

Kdte234gps0: Water leaking from under dishwasher (diverter valve?)

Noticed water pooling under my dishwasher and I attached a video that looks like it is a leak from the diverter valve? Any recommendations on what should I attempt to fix? I saw a video on YouTube of someone replacing the gasket but wanted to double check here. Thanks in advance
