Messed up while putting the brush spring back into the side of the mixer and left the power on. While inserting the brush head there was a pop and spark. Now when I insert the brush head (double checked the orientation) the motor still won’t turn on. Guess that means I shorted something, but is there anything I can do to fix it from here?

KitchenAid KSM150PSER: Help with a piece that fell out of the back control area

My speed control panel needed adjusting as my stand mixer would only go high speed no matter what setting. When I opened up the back to try adjusting the screws first to fix the speed problem a little piece fell out that is a U-shaped with a rolling metal cylinder on the bottom. It just fell out and I have no idea where it goes or if it’s essential to put back in but I’m guessing so. My model number is KSM155GBSN it is a KitchenAid artisan 5 quart.

KitchenAid KSM150PSER: Kitchenaid Speed 2 too fast, can't adjust it

Hello everybody!

I bought an KSM150 which was bought in the Unites States around 2005. For using it here in Germany I use a Converter from 230 V to 120 V which works perfectly.

My problem is, that speed 2 is nearly twice as fast as it should be, speed 2 , 6 and 8 are nearly the same and speed 10 is a lot faster. I tried to adjust it, what didn't work. So i bought a new phase control board and replaced the old one, sadly without an effect.

Do you think it's the speed control plate or could it also be the Mixer Motor Governor which causes the problem?

Thanks for your help,

Alex

KitchenAid Artisan Mixer: Will not turn off

I have a Kitchen Aid Artisan stand mixer, about 5 years old. The switch will not stay in the off position, but will move (all by itself) into the stir position. If I tighten the recommended screw, it solves this problem, but then the mixer runs at a much higher speed and will not run at low speeds at all.

A question that was asked previously is similar to mine:

Doesn't actually turn off

If it is a part that needs to be replaced, I would appreciate a new link to the part that I need as the old link is now broken. If I need to test if a switch is bad, if you could let me know exactly how to do that, that would be great as well.

Thank you in advance.

KitchenAid Tilt-Head Mixers: Why is the speed too low at setting 10

I have an older Kitchenaid Artisan tilt head mixer and even after speed adjustment and replacement of top plastic gear assembly, food grade grease and phase control board (original spare part) the speed won’t go up after position 8. Even when properly adjusted (60 rpm at 1, 180 rpm at 6), the speed difference between position 6 and 8 is minimal and between 8 and 10 is absent.

This speed problem was already there when I was given the mixer, but I was hoping the replacements and adjustments would fix the speed problem. Please advise.

KitchenAid KSM150PSER: Gradual loss of lower speeds - now only speed 6 and up work

My kitchenaid 220V when purchased used did not work on stir and speed 1. Eventually over time speed 2, all the way to 8 no longer worked. The machine would sometimes give a half effort to turn and then nothing. My friend took apart the whole machine and put it back together and it magically worked again. He didn't exactly know what he did. He said he just cleaned it up and reassembled it.

Fast forward 3 years, and the same thing has happened. Gradually over 2 months stir stopped working, and now only speed 6 and up work (at proper spinning speed).

Any thoughts?

KitchenAid KSM150PSER: Speed control lever won't stay in off position

I have an Artisan KA about 9 years old. It has done well but over the last few months the speed control lever has started to jump out of the off position so that when you switch the power on at the mains it starts from speed one. I’ve taken the back off, and the adjustment screw wasn’t all the way in - but if I screw that in then it forces the main contacts apart until the lever moves to position 3. It feels like the lever needs more upward pressure, so that the raised bump on top of the lever is pushed more firmly into the grooves carved into the side of the body (they are hidden under the thin aluminium strip that wraps round the machine). Anyone got any ideas? Many thanks!
