I see that the larger mixers have easily accessible brushes that can be replaced to fix this problem. These are not present on the mini. How can I fix this?

It runs smoothly for a few seconds and then stops. It runs well and smoothly at other speeds so I suspect it is not a damaged gear. Why would it come to a stop so soon after starting cold.
