Kindle Voyage: Why is my screen frozen?

The screen of my Kindle won't change even though I try to turn it off and on. I tried charging it and pressing the power button again, but that didn't work either. Please help!

The screen will just seemingly turn itself off and on. Holding the power button for as long as 5 minutes before releasing does nothing to change this cycle. I've held the power button for 7 and 40 seconds before releasing. Does nothing. I've done while charged, charging, and dead. Does nothing. What's wrong?

Kindle Voyage: Voyage Charging port will not connect

Kindle Voyage charging port will not hold the usb charger. It feels loose and does not show any connection. I have used several new charging wires with the same unsuccessful results.

Kindle voyage. Frozen on screensaver. Charged all night but still only amber light was showing rather than green. Hold on/off button for more than 7, flashes black then returns to screensaver. Same response when on/off held down for over a minute. How can I fix it?

Kindle Voyage: How do I snap the rear casing back on?

I was taking off case and caught the top of my Kindle Voyage with my nail and the top of the rear casing separated. When I looked into it, this is how the back is supposed to come off...iFixit even shows that this is how you begin taking it apart. All advice I can find says to just snap it back together but, try as I might, I can't pinch the clips hard enough to get them to click. Please recommend a strategy, I don't want to cause damage in trying to fix such a simple problem. Thanks!

Kindle Voyage: Removing Back on Voyage - Now 6 years old

I’m attempting to remove the back on my Voyage in order to replace the battery. The videos from iFixit and others toss off removing the back as just sliding it down. That isn’t working on my now venerable Voyage (they were made when it was new). I’ve tried unsealing the side seam by running an iFixit triangular plastic shim, but am not having much luck. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the back off without busting the device. I assume the age is the problem with the seams welding shut.

Kindle Voyage: The lighting on my screen is different from top to bottom?

When I take a good look at the screen, I can see a lighting gradient from top to bottom. It has a yellowish hue around the top and turns to a normal white light down at the bottom.

Screen is freezing up on my voyage. Doesn't seem to be fully charging, so I would like to try replacing the battery first. Any idea who sells replacements?

All the kindles seem to have custom charge ports but I'm not able to find a replacement for the Voyage.

Does anyone know if this exists somewhere as a more generic part? Or know of a repair shop that can successfully replace it - online or Chicago, IL? The ones I've called say they wouldn't be able to locate the part.

I'm considering buying a second Voyage for parts and having the ports swapped (this is about data recovery)

Kindle Voyage: Won't charge, even with new battery

I got a new battery from ifixit which I thought would do the trick, but the symptoms are still the same: when plugged in it gives the “battery” icon (unchanged for days at a time), and the screen basically stays on with a flicker to a dark battery every 20 seconds.

Aw, heck. My Kindle Voyage sat unused for a long time and has an icon on the display — a battery with a ! in the center. Charging it did not help. I attempted a reset, did not help. Dead battery, I figured. But I replaced the battery and — nope, no joy! I undid and reconnected connectors, eyeballed the whole board with a magnifiers, can’t find any obvious faults.

Anyone have any ideas?

Kindle Voyage: Water Damage- Touch Screen Unresponsive

Hello :) I left my Kindle Voyage in the rain (devastating)! After a few days in rice I plugged it in and turned it on. To my surprise- it turned on and lit up. However, the touch screen isn’t working. The side buttons still vibrate and work, I just can’t select a book or anything because the touch won’t work. Is this something that is fixable? Or is it gone forever? Thanks!

My kindle voyage screen has been stuck on a book ad since last night. I may have rolled over on my device while I was sleeping causing the display to become faulty. There are small lines that go across the screen as if the pixels are stuck on another picture. What are my options?

Hi,

I accidentally leaned on my Kindle with my elbow.

I heard a small pop (from the Kindle, not my elbow), and now it looks like this:

Lots of horizontal lines and a few thin vertical lines across screen
One small patch where it looks like the screen has been cracked (circled)
No damage to the front glass
Backlight comes on for about 15 seconds, goes off for a second, then comes back on, in an endless cycle. Image on screen doesn’t change at all. Video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/dc8S1D3qLuWTjZ...
No vibration when page-press buttons are pressed
Charging LED comes on orange when USB connected
Computer doesn’t recognise as a USB device when plugged into
Discharging, charging, holding power button for 8 seconds, holding power button for 2 minutes, disconnecting and reconnecting battery (by unplugging internal ZIF connector), all make no difference.

Is this normal for a Kindle that has broken screen but motherboard is still ok? Or is it likely the motherboard is also broken?

Would like to be reasonably confident that motherboard is still ok before I go out and buy a replacement screen.
