My kindle fell (it was in a case) and now it won’t turn on. The charging light works (it was almost fully charged and the light went from yellow to green). I’ve tried holding the power button down for one minute - nothing. The screen is just blank.

…Because I managed to force a cable in upside down or something and now I cannot sync data or probably recharge in any reasonable amount of time. I haven’t taken it apart to look at the damage yet.

Looking online, I see replacement ports “Compatible with” all kinds of devices but all of them seem to me to be about the same— silvery metal sleeve with four pins sticking out the back end.

How interchangeable are these parts, really? I have found one for my old device, at a premium price plus shipping, and I can buy ten generic ones for the same price free shipping, you know what I mean.

I’ve reset my kindle several times but it always shows 92mb free, and yet there aren’t any files on its storage at all

My Kindle model D01200 is frozen on the sleep page screen.

Swapped the battery out, still locked on sleep page.

Charged unit and reset with power button push for 1 minute. No response.

Any encouraging ideas, or is it toast?

The battery is fully charged. I hold down the power button to turn it on, but the screen remains blank. Now suddenly the screen saver turned on and off on its own, but I still can't turn on my kindle. I'm leaving on a month-long international trip in three days and I'm really hoping someone can help me fix it before then!

Kindle Touch: My power button does not work

Power button does not work, e-reader appears to work correctly once started via USB cable into a PC but no other method that I have seen put forward in various articles seems to work including multiple resets, pressing power button for 7, 15, 30 secs. disabling screensaver etc. Guessing this has to be a hardware problem, but if anyone had any other suggestions or options to try before I dismantle this great bit of kit, please let me know. Thanks

When I insert the cable I have wiggle it around for the yellow light to come on and it stops registering the cord unless i hold it in place. How do I fix this?

I tried to turn on my kindle touch the other day and the screen went funny. there are lines all across the middle of the screen and they will not go. I have tried to turn it on and it does not come up on screen, is there anything i can do to fix it. the battery is charged.

My kindle won't charge anymore I think there's a problem with where the lead goes into the kindle it seems to be misshaped. A wrong charger may have been forced into it at one stage.

Can this be fixed or is it finished?
