Kindle Paperwhite 2nd Generation: Paperwhite refuses to turn on, LED blinks 4 times.

Hi, my Kindle Paperwhite suddenly stopped turning on after a full charge.

I tried resetting it (long-press power for 10, 20, 40, even up to 80 seconds) but it doesn't work.

I tried removing the battery and leaving it overnight and re-inserting. Doesn't work.

Here's the weird thing - the battery seems fine (doesn't drain overnight at 3.8V), but when it's in the device it seems to be draining quickly. The kindle isn't charging it fully even though I've left it for nearly 2 days.

When I keep the power button pressed for around 10 seconds, this happens:

https://youtu.be/VoGxAfrIzug

But nothing after.

Kindle Paperwhite 2nd Generation: After switching on my Kindle goes down

After I switch on the Kindle, the screen lits up and shows the progress bar. When the progress bar is full the device goes down. The battery is fully charged. Reseting the device doesn't help. The memory is only 5% used. Any idea what can I do?

Update (01/04/2018)

The situation with my Kindle is not described in the Kindle Paperwhite 2nd Generation Troubleshooting.

I have tried to reset the device by pushing the start button for 20 seconds and by removing the battery for some time, but the situation remained the same. It seems to me that the operating system can not load.

When connected to PC, I can see the files and the directories. After disconnecting from PC I can see the first page of the device for a second and then it goes off. Actually I can make a video clip of my Kindle's behaviour.

I have loaded a video on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1DgU5Js...

Kindle Paperwhite 2nd Generation: Kindle requires restart to turn on screen after staying idle 5-10 min.

Hi,

I have kind of a unique problem with my kindle. My kindle does not turn on after staying idle or in lock screen for 5 - 10 min. It does not respond when I push the power button to turn on the screen. However, I can only restart it by pushing the power button 7 seconds. I can continue to read after the restart but then when I leave it idle for 10 min then I cannot open the screen again. I need to restart again to open. I have already tried 2 different battery and also hard reset.

Thanks,

Kindle Paperwhite 2nd Generation: Screen will not change, stuck on one image

I have a kindle paperwhite, I believe it's actually the third Gen, but in the same family.

The screen is stuck with the words “upgrade and save on a new kindle device” and some girl is riding a bus staring off into space in the picture below the text

-I have tried a hard reset(both on USB power and off) : power light just blinked a few times both on and off USB power

-I have let it charge for over 5-6 hours and the light just stayed orange, even though it was recently fully charged within a few days prior - tried to hard reset again, power light blinked a few times

-I have taken out the battery and placed it back in, screen stuck still.. hard reset lead to the LED just blinking agian

-I have disconnected the entire motherboard from the screen, disconnected the battery and let the device just sit for a day, replugged everything in, same story

The screen will remain regardless of power being fed to device or if no power fed to device….

Even with all of these things done, the device has never rebooted and the screen still remains constant. I have purchased another Kindle in the time being since I have work trips coming up asap, but was wondering if anyone else has expierenced this.

Is it the battery? The motherboard? Is the internal memory corrupt?

Thanks a ton in advance!!!
