I would like to know how to open the device to change the battery. At the moment it is not necessary but because the battery runtime is about the same on my 6 month old Oasis 3 as on my 6 year old (heavily used) Paperwhite i bet that i will have to change the battery after ~3 years.

Don´t get me wrong. I love my Oasis. Size, buttons to flip pages, automatic orientation rotation and case shape (which makes it extremely comfortable to hold). But the battery size is a joke. One day of heavy reading and the battery is down to 10%. If i could easily open the case i would try to fit a bigger battery.

I did some modding with my old Paperwhite years ago. And also changed the Battery after a few years. Even added a Qi receiver to charge it wireless.

Probably will try to open my Oasis in the future when the battery gets weaker. At the moment the battery is still to good to risc damaging the Oasis by opening the case.

I am just checking if you have any information of changing the battery (and which battery to order) for the Kindle Oasis (2016) 8th Generation Charge Cover (which is separate to the kindle). I have seen the details for changing the battery in the actual Kindle - but not the charge cover.

My Oasis 3 stopped connecting to WiFi so I can't download anything or use the dictionary etc. I've done all troubleshooting including factory reset. What else can I do? Can this be repaired and if so where?

Amazon Kindle Oasis (8th Gen): Screen is frozen at kindle logo image and home button does not work

My kindle screen is frozen.

The screen turns white when pressing the home button for 40 sec but soon returns to same logo image.

PC does not recognize this device but charge it by using USB cable.

I bought it 15 months ago and never dropped it from high place nor in the water.

Customer service said this is trouble of hard and I should buy new one.

Can I fix it?

My kindle oasis is frozen with an updating screen. I tried holding the power button for 40+ seconds. But it's not doing anything. Anybody else encountered this problem and found a work around?

Hello my Kindle Oasis switches on and the two buttons both allow me to scroll through the books I have. What I can’t now doe is to select anything on the screen as the touch screen is not working. Are you able to fix this and if so how much would it cost?

Can a cracked screen be replaced on a kindle oasis? The kindle is working, text can be read pages turn etc., but the screen is cracked. Amazon would fix it if still in warranty but as it’s out of warranty they refuse and expect to buy new instead.

Amazon Kindle Oasis (8th Gen): Seeking procurement of a replacement power button

I've cracked open my Kindle Oasis and diagnosed the problem to be a bad power switch. The Oasis won't turn on unless I go through a convoluted process of plugging it into a power source, opening the kindle cover. There's now way to shut the kindle off, besides closing the cover.

If I could get my hands on one of those power buttons, I could swap it out, and most of my problems would go away.

I suppose I could harvest a replacement power button by finding somebody's used Kindle Oasis, and scavenging the parts off of that.

My Kindle Oasis 2 screen cracked, everything else is working fine. Bought another defective Kindle Oasis 2, where the screen is working. Planning on taking the screen off the defective Oasis and put it in the one that has cracked screen, but otherwise functional. Any guide of how to replace the screen?

The glass covering the screen of my Oasis has cracked and shattered in a fall. It is still functional. Can I replace just the glass, or do I have to replace the whole screen?
