Kindle Fire HD 6: Why won't my Kindle Fire HD6 charge past 1%?

My daughter's Kindle Fire HD6 has suddenly stopped charging. As long as the tablet is plugged in, it will power on and is fully functional. However, the battery indicator at the upper right corner never shows the charging "lightening bolt" and the battery percentage will never go past 1%. When you unplug the tablet, the battery quickly drops to 0% and the tablet shuts down.

I opened the back cover and took a look at the charging port, including the soldering to the motherboard, which all looks fine as far as I can see.

I've tried resetting by holding down the power button and that had no effect.

So what's the most logical problem - bad battery? Bad charging port? I'm lost.

Thanks for any help!

Kindle Fire HD 6: How can I get my camera to take better photos?

Whenever I take photos with my Kindle Fire, most of the image appears blurry. It's especially blurry in the top-right corner of the image. I don't think I dropped my Kindle or immersed it in any liquids. (Plus, it's still working.) Is there some setting I can change to remove blur? What should I do?

Kindle Fire HD 6: Would Plugging in a cable to the bare motherboard be able to get data

So i have a kindle fire mobo that has had its battery connector taken out improperly. I cant solder each of the points into a new battery as i am not that skilled at soldering. If i plug in the bare mother board (no screen, battery or anything) and as long as nothing is bridging, can i recover the data from it without frying anything

Kindle Fire HD 6: Where is the LCD connection inside the kindle Fire 6HD?

Question: Where is the LCD connector in the Kindle fire 6HD. I have enclosed a photo of the open item. Please tell me where is the LCD connector?

Hello, I replaced the screens on two Fire HD6’s on the first with the badly shattered screen I managed to break one of the zero force connectors (my bad). On the second I did every thing according to plan and I can hear that it is turning on as messages ping in but the screen will not light up to touch or to turn on. I have reassembled this little beast three times to no avail…what might the problem be. It was working just find prior to my replacing the cracked screen (which was accomplished with no problem or unusual force being used). I was extra careful to make sure the zero force connections were done properly as well. Thanks

Kindle Fire HD 6: I punctured the battery of my Kindle Fire HD 6 what should I do?

I was taking apart my kindle and accendently made a small punture. It started smoking as soon as I punctured it and took it outside immediately. It has stoped smoking as of now. So my question is can I transport it to dispose of it and what is the likelihood of it exploding/catching on fire? Would placing the battery in a Tupperware with the lid help? Because fire needs air to survive and Tupperware plus lid = short fire until air is gone. Right?

Kindle Fire HD 6: How can I replace the orange tape on the motherboard connection?

I tried to DIY a screen replacement on a kindle fire hd 6 using the breakdown and screen replacement instructions. However, I couldn't find any reassembly instructions. I reversed the breakdown instructions, but the orange tape that was removed will no longer adhere to the touch screen/motherboard connection. So, the new touch screen does not work. Is there a way to purchase replacement tape? Is this a common computer manufacturing item?

Kindle Fire HD 6: Can I replace the Digitizer without replacing the Screen?

I have an issue where my touch screen is not accepting input for a 1cm by 6" region. Factory Resets, Downgrades and Upgrades have proved fruitless so I believe my last option is to replace the Digitizer. I can only find Digitizers or Screens on ebay so would I be correct in assuming that there is no adhesive between the two surfaces and I could easily replace just the Digitizer.
