Kindle Fire HD 2013: Power Button Broken on Kindle

I dropped my Kindle, and it won't turn off or turn on unless the auto-wake case is on it. Other then that it works perfectly fine. How do I fix this?

So my kindle fire powered off. I have charged it. I can tell its on because the kindle makes a chime when turning the volume up or down. THe kindle shows nothing, it looks like its off.

I have a Kindle Fire HD. I'm currently on my second one as the first one had the typical charging port issue. So, Amazon sent me a new one because I still had a warranty. Low and behold a year and 3 days later, the replacement has the same issue and of course they won't replace it now, but offer me lovely options of ordering a new one. . .

Because I like to slam my hand in the same drawer three times lol.

Okay, so what am I posting about today?

I want to keep the Kindle Fire that is currently a glorified paperweight and somehow install a wireless charging mat so that I can charge it on a charging pad that requires no cord. This sidesteps the whole "replace the charging port" idea. . because frankly I don't have any of the tools needed and I seriously doubt it would end with the Kindle working if I tried to diy it.

Any tips or suggestions? I've been looking on this site and on Youtube for a video or something and am not having much luck. Tips, a how-to guide or any advice would be awesome.

I slipped on the ice while holding my Kindle Fire and now my screen won’t light up. I didn’t think it hit the pavement, but I badly scraped the hand I was holding it in, so maybe it had a worse fall than I thought. It was in its case, so there was no exterior damage.

I tried pressing the power button and holding it. It made that sound it makes when it asks, “Do you want to power off your Kindle?” but there was no image on the screen. I tried touching the screen where the “yes” and “no” buttons usually appear, and after a couple of tries, I think I shut it off. Now, as far as I can tell, it won’t turn back on again. I’ve plugged it into the charger to see if the screen would light up when I did that. No dice. Suggestions?

I've search everywhere. All replacement glass shows a camera hole. I don't know if its the same since there appears to be a difference in the parts/layout between the 7" Kindle Fire HD and the 7" Kindle Fire HD 2013.

I'm having an issue with a black screen on my Kindle fire HD. I have tried to reset it numerous times, its charged up, it makes the volume up & down sound, and the power off sound. I can see it get lighter when I turn it on & there is one line thru the screen but I just can't get the clear full color back. I've disconnected the battery & plugged it back in and that worked once for me…. I tried putting it in the oven minus the battery as I had read somewhere…. still nothing. I must say that I didn't realize how much I depended on my kindle till it kicked the bucket. Is there any hope for it or is it a firmware issue? Will changing the motherboard help with this issue? Thanks!

I changed the cracked digitizer on a kindle fire hd. Afterwards it won't "power on". I checked with multimeter and it's getting power to the battery. I plugged it into a desktop and the desktop recognized that the device was plugged in. When I press the power button the screen stays blank. I've checked the connections and the LCD is plugged into the mother board. Any other ideas?

all hookups made with caution but still no lighting of screen. before the system went down completely I had problem with the Kindle turning off unexpectedly even while on line.
