Kindle 4: My kindle won’t connect to WiFi

For some reason my kindle will no longer connect to WiFi, i’ve Tried connecting to different networks and phone hotspots but no luck (i’ve reset the device). It’s really frustrating but I don’t know what to do know. Can you help please?

My kindle was working fine except for the power button being temperamental. I tore down the device and resoldered the power switch. The kindle screen only shows the below with no buttons responding. The power button causes the light to respond as normal and the screen refreshes the same message if a hard reset is attempted.

Any way I can get it to boot normally again?

My Kindle 4 has glitched so that it has this grey blank area at the bottom of my screen and I can’t read anything because of that. I don’t know what to do, because I’ve tried resetting it multiple times but it hasn’t disappeared! I don’t want to factory reset it though because it was my great-grandma’s.

When power button is pushed, green light comes on but nothing else happens. Instead of the usual book advertisement, the screen has the "kindle" word and logo.

Nothing happen when I press it, the only way to turn my Kindle on is to plug it to my computer. Everything else is working fine.

Hello,

since about one year ago my Kindle 4th gen doesn't turn on and it remains stuck on a book page.

I tried to (without any success, in all the cases the screen remains frozen, without showing the battery icon):

-reboot it by holding the power button for 15 to 40 secs

-do the previous step, after charging it

-do the first step while it is charging and the orange light disappears after about 5 secs and it turns on when I leave the power button

-replace the battery since when I am charging it, the orange led is on, until when it turns off without changing to green. This is why I thought my issue was related to the battery.

-plug it to the computer but it isn't detected

Do you have any suggestions? I thought to try to access it by computer but I don't know how to do it.

Amazon's assistance can't help me.

Kindle 4: Is there a factory reset button inside the Kindle 4? (vs Software)

Once I have the cover off, is there a factory reset button somewhere inside the device? My Kindle 4 is unresponsive, though it appears to charge (charging light stays on for a while, then turns off). I would like to try a factory reset, or try other troubleshooting steps, but holding down the power button for 40+ seconds elicits no response except making the amber light turn off and then on again.

My Kindle just keeps restarting in the middle of my reading . The power button works fine it switches on and off when I want it to but it keeps turning on and off even when it's not in use and while using it and as a result I'm not able to read anything and the battery drains rapidly .

Is it a hardware or a software issue ?

Kindle 4: Kindle will not switch on

my kindle was fine when I switched it off, but will not turn on again. I have tried this with the mains connection on & off. When pressing the on/off button, the green light comes on, briefly, then --- nothing!

The charging light seems to work, but the kindle will simply not boot! Any suggestions?

Kindle 4: Kindle 'frozen' on the screensaver picture

My kindle has been frozen on the opening screensaver picture (pencils/pens etc) for over 6 months. The power button and home buttons don’t appear to work, so I can’t turn off/on or reset the device. I thought it would run out of charge and would reset when I recharged, but it doesn't appear to be running out of charge either!

Kindle 4: Why can't I sync reading position from Kindle to Android?

I recently bought a Kindle 4th/5th generation under the impression that I could sync reading position from Kindle device to Android Kindle app.

I previously downloaded the book and used send to kindle email to send it to my phone.

When I downloaded the book on the kindle device from the archives documents, the book opened on the same page as on Android.

But when I read further on the Kindle device, it doesn't show that I've read further when I open it up again on the android.

I've tried turning on all the settings but it doesn't work.

How can I get it to sync both ways?
