Kindle 1st Generation: My Kindle wont Charge?

My Kindle wont charge, it seems that there may be an issue with regards to the charging port. It now has a consistent error of critical battery on the screen. Please advise if it is worth fixing?

I have tried re booting, no help Battery is fully charged. My 1st getn.Kindle will not connect to Net. Has always connected before. Help please, I am lost without my Kindle!

Battery was drained. After full charge, the screen continues to have two images criss-crossing each other, and the 40-second restart does not cure. Also, once restarted and the menu selected, the screen image does not display the factory reset menu choice, so I have not been able to select "Full Factory Reset". What to do?? Any full screen menu images available to show screens so steps can be taken to follow instructions?

Kindle 1st Generation: Server status change from UP to DOWN

Why does FRAS,FIRS,WEBSITE,TODO,CDE, etc server keep changing status from UP,UP... to DOWN,DOWN... (411 page) which prevents me from connecting to store or archive? Is there a part that needs replacing?
