2009-2014 Kia Sorento: 2012 Sorento's Transmission Need to be Taken Out for a Fluid Change!?

Okay here's the issue I'm having with my Kia Dealer.

They are quoting a ridiculous amount and time to change the transmission fluid (Nearly $800 and 3 days ) on my Sorento and apparently do it on every Sorento and there's a waiting list.

I find it very odd as to why the vehicle's entire transmission needs to be taken out and dismantled in order to do a transmission oil change. Can someone please explain why?

2015-Present Kia Sorento: Bad smell coming from air vents on car when fresh in take is on

I have a 2015 Kia Sorento. I noticed a bad smell coming from my air vents about a week ago when I was in park with the heater on. It's not a sweet smell like antifreeze and it's not a stinky smell like rotten eggs. It's more of an electrical smell. I took it to the dealership and they changed the cabin filter and said they looked it over and couldn't find anything. They said they looked at the exhaust system and for any oil leaks. Found nothing. So I hoped the cabin filter solved the problem. It did not. So only clues I have is car has to be on fresh air intake and the temp has to be halfway before this happens. And it can be smelled from the inside of the car, the outside and under the hood. Anyone have any idea what it could be? Thanks.

2009-2014 Kia Sorento: Brake Pedal Slowly Sinks to Floor After Coming to a Standstill?

I own a 2012 Kia Sorento EX. It’s been quite good all these years.

Here’s the issue: When ever I brake and come to a standstill ( For instance at a traffic light stop) the brakes work very well as they should. But as I’m stationary, resting my foot on the firm brake pedal, slowly the pedal starts going soft and slowly sinks to the floor. Simultaneously the car just starts creeping forward. I’ve bumped into a few cars this way. Thankfully no damage for either driver. Only way to remain stationary at this point is to press the brake pedal to the floor or lift pedal and quickly press down again until the same happens.

How it first started: It appeared first when my ABS module started malfunctioning when I hit a huge pothole with my left-front wheel while braking downhill. There was this rrrr-ing noise and the brakes stopped working for a brief moment downhill. (Very scary)

Fixed but came back: The Manufacturer authorized repair center in our country completely replaced the ABS unit & replaced the brake fluid. But after just 2 weeks of the car’s brakes working good as new, the issue came back!

The master cylinder has no leaks and the break fluid is clear. The car still brakes very strong. The issue only arises when stationary.

Does anyone have any idea what’s going on?

Update (03/23/2018)

I found this thread and the OP seems to have experienced exact symptoms. And apparently replacing Master Cylinder has worked.
