Kenmore Refrigerator: Kenmore elite frige not cooling

Hello. I have a Kenmore elite fridge, that isn't cooling. It's a little over a year old, shouldn't be anything major.

Called local repair guy, paid a $30 service call, said was out of freon. I ordered bullet piercing value and got can stop leak with freon. After hooking everything up, the gauge was reading it has freon. So paid service call for nothing lol.

Looking for advice on what to do next. No error codes, fan and compressor are running, just not cooling.

Model number is 795.74023.411

Thanks in advance, great site. Been reading a lot of articles on here.

Kenmore Refrigerator: Kenmore Elite 76572 Refrigerator Fridge and Freezer not cooling?

My Kenmore Elite 76572 refrigerator is not cooling properly. I set the freezer and fridge temperatures to 0 deg F and 37 deg F respectively, as recommended but they go back to 12/14 deg F and 50/52 deg F, needless to say it is not making ice. The light, compressor etc. are on. So far I tried shutting it off for over 5 minutes but in vain. I also saw some frost that I scrapped off and left the fridge disconnected from electricity and doors open for few minutes to get rid of all the frost but no improvement. Any suggestions?

Kenmore Refrigerator: Why is my freezer not freezing anymore?

Hello,

I have a Kenmore Elite side-by-side refrigerator that is 3 years old. I noticed recently that freezer was no longer freezing food. The condenser coils were a little dirty so I unplugged the refrigerator and cleaned them. When I plugged it back in everything worked. The freezer began making ice and freezing food again. Three hours later I noticed the ice in the ice maker was melting. The evaporator fan in the freezer is running. The condenser fan is running. The compressor is humming and does not feel hot when touched. I have adjusted the freezer and refrigerator temperatures to -1 and 37. I removed the back panel on the freezer to check evaporator coils and there is no frost or ice present at all. Evaporator coils are wet. The evaporator fan blows cool air in the freezer when it is plugged in but not freezing cold. What could be the problem? The refrigerator model number is 795.5183.3410

Kenmore Refrigerator: My compressor went out in Kenmore Elite.

2015 Kenmore Elite Model 795.72483.410. I had a repair person out and they said the compressor needs to be replaced and that is the cause of my refrigerator and freezer not cooling. They said $600 part and $200 labor. We didn’t have him fix it and then read that my compressor has a 10 year warranty. I called Sears and they said it’s under warranty but they have to send a diagnostic tech out to diagnose for $99. They said the $99 will go toward labor if I have the repair done. I am wondering what kind of labor cost I am looking at. Can they not just take at face value what my original repair person said about it being the compressor and then come out to do the repair? I read there is another class action law suit brewing for LG compressors inside Kenmore refrigerators but it’s still in the works.

Kenmore Refrigerator: Kenmore Ice Maker M1 SA8868 won't eject ice, control arm doesn't move

I have a Kenmore Ice Maker M1 SA8868 in my freezer. It previously worked fine for years. I moved to a home without a water hookup, so I stopped using it. I just moved back to a home WITH a hookup, and now the ice maker work right.

It won't eject the cubes it makes, the control arm doesn't move (auto or manual), and manually initiated ejection [cycle] of ice stalls when ejectors hit the cubes, but they eject about an hour later. This likely means that the arm didn't move automatically earlier either (I can't sit and watch it all day). Then water refill not initiated every time.

I don't think anything is working automatically. Initial water fill was after manual turn of the dial to initiate first cycle. After 12 hours, no functions. I initiated manual cycle, ejectors got stuck on ice. An hour later the cubes finally ejected, but control arm didn't appear to move at any point. I cycled manually again, water finally refilled. Arm still apparently unmoving.

I have already replaced the Automatic Water Supply Valve (AWSV) that feeds the icemaker to solve a previous issue, and I tested with a known GOOD icemaker successfully. So I know the problems are within the existing icemaker.

Kenmore Refrigerator: Kenmore Ice Maker M1 SA8868 drips gallons of water into catch box?

I have a Kenmore Ice Maker M1 SA8868 in my freezer. It previously worked fine for years. I moved to a home without a water hookup, so I made ice "manually" with plastic trays. I just moved back to a home WITH a hookup, and now the ice maker won't form "cubes".

I can make cubes _manually_ on the low freezer setting, but I can't get cubes to form on low, med, or high freezer settings IN the ice maker. The receptacles fill up, and it stays liquid. The maker starts dripping from the bottom and just fills up the catch box with icy slush water. 3-4 gallons a day it seems.

I can pop the cover and force it to cycle by winding the dial a bit, causing the motor to take over, eject, and refill with water. But still no freezing in the maker. I have tried with the "sensor arm" both up and down (up is "off").

Notes:

I can't tell if the motor is turning on it's own, or turning too often (I can't sit and watch for hours).

I found a guide here, but it seems to have issues:

http://www.ehow.com/how_12021705_trouble...

1. arm up is OFF, not on.

2. there is no "rubber pipe on top of the unit", as there is a plastic spot that seems to direct the water to each cube "spot".

help?

Kenmore Refrigerator: Why is my Kenmore Elite Refrigerator running 20 degrees warm?

Kenmore Elite: 74025. Ran great for 6 years in confined space, but recently noticed slightly warmer drinks. I decreased the temperature setting. Then I noticed slightly softer frozen goods, but saw a bag of ice I had was fine. Chalked it up to weather, but made better airway in freezer. I took it out of cabinets to let it breathe awhile, cleaned around it, used a data-vac to blow out all the dust. No go.

This thing is really quiet so it’s hard to tell if fan is going, but I’m pretty sure there is no significant fan working in the freezer. My next step will be to take it apart when I get time and clean while it’s open, but my main question, maybe someone’s familiar….is there a central fan for the top and bottom? Or any fail items on this model or similar LG that would cause these symptoms?

Used a temp gun to get current readings.

Freezer Setting: 0F

Reading: 24F

Fridge Setting: 33F

Reading: 53F

If someone is familiar with the unit, I’d really appreciate some help!

Kenmore Refrigerator: Kenmore Refrigerator 106.8596880 cooling won't stay on?

My Kenmore refrigerator 106.8596880 stopped cooling/freezing. I I bought a new thermostat control only to discovered after I installed it, that it was not an exact parts match, it fit but the dial numbering is off. The part number was the same but I found out later that this part comes in different models based on the specific unit. Anywho, the fridge started cooling so I was fine once I determined what was high, low, off, on. After about a few days, the fridge was dead silent though it had power, as the lights worked. I tapped the temperature control housing and it came on and began to cool however, I found it randomly stops cooling and I have to give it a few sharp taps to get it to start running. The fridge has an energy saver switch that I use to alert me when the fridge is not running as it should. If the light is out, I give sharply tap til the light comes on which indicates that fridge is cooling. I need to fix this problem once and for all!
