Kenmore Freezer: Why is my freezer not cooling?

My family has had a Kenmore Elite freezer (model # 253.28092803) for a little over five years. It has stopped running, but the lights are on inside. The display shows 0- instead of 0 F. The buttons on the display aren't working, they just beep when you push them. How do we get this fixed?

Kenmore Freezer: How do we restart our freezer after a power outage? Kenmore 253.280998

We came home and the Door Ajar and Power Failure lights were on. We checked the plug and it was properly inserted, but the indoor light was burned out. Instead of a temperature rating it said 1hour. Any Suggestions? Please hurry, the freezer is full!

795.73302601: Kenmore Evaporator fan failure, no tech sheet

Hello all!. I'm a 54 year old disabled woman who's 20+ old fridge just suffered an evaporator fan failure. Given that I am on disability and am likely to be taken advantage of by most repair companies due to the sin of being female and therefore "gullible" I'm trying to find as much information as possible before contacting anyone for a repair quote. Problem is, my tech sheet was apparently lost in one of my past moves. Can anyone figure out how to get this thing in diagnostic mode so I can figure out exactly what is going on? In my experience, forewarned is forearmed.

Also, any idea how long it will be until the fan failure starts causing a cascade of other problems that result in it being cheaper to just replace it?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Kenmore Freezer: Freezer lid liner separated from lid

I have a Sears freezer model 253.16542105. It's around 20 years old. Ice has collected between the lid and its liner, and the liner has separated from the lid. Many of the little plastic fasteners have popped off.

I have questions:

It looks like I'm going to need replacements for the little plastic fasteners that hold the lid, liner, and gasket together. Perhaps I'll be able to find some of them when I defrost but probably not all of them. Sears charges $88.74 for a set of them (part #5304406520). Is there a way to get cheaper fasteners that will work?

Why/how does this problem happen?

Does this problem indicate a problem with the gasket? Should I replace the gasket too?

Is there a different kind of insulation I can use in the lid that doesn't absorb condensation which then freezes?
