The washer will transiently get stuck on sensing mode and not progress to the cycle selected.

OR

If you select a cycle it may not progress through that cycle like it should leaving close wet and not spun.

When the cycle selector knob gets moved to different cycles such as heavy load or normal load it seems to trigger these occurrences.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Unplugging the machine seems to help but I want to know why the issue is occurring.

My problem is the washer uses only hot water to wash no matter if if I switch to cold wash or tap wash it still uses hot water and all our colored clothes are got worse.
