The juicer in plugged in and on, but when u flip the switch to start juicing at either the low or high speed setting, nothing happens.

Juicer: Philips HR1861 - Change Coupling

Hello Guys,

I have this juicer (Philips HR1861) and I want to open it (after 10 or so years of usage) and clean it inside. The take apart is not so hard, just classic philips head screws, but I need to take off the coupling from the motor shaft so I can take out the last piece of plastic to clean it from fruit juice. How am I able to achieve it? Just asking before I will do it, dont want to bend the shaft using brute force.

This is the coupling on the shaft, but no clue how to remove it.

I was also able to find “service manual” for the product, but it says no problems in dissasembly. Contacted Phillips and I was willing to pay and sign paper, that they are not guilty of anything misdone by me or that they are not responsible if I get electric shock, they did not wanted to hear about it.

Thanks for the answer, that would explain the flathead groove on the oposite part of the motor’s shaft, but I had tried to unscrew it counterclokwise and maybe I did not use much of a strength.

But then I looked for spare coupling and found out how it looks from bottom and I dont see any thread there, so I was confused.

But anyway, thanks for reply, I will try to unscrew it with bigger strength.

My juicer was working fine but now when I turn it on, the motor spins but the blades stop spinning when ingredients are pressed into the shoot.

Argus Le, got stuck (with carrots), after much work I was able to disassemble it. It did turn on but with a noticable rattle then a short while after it stopped spinning. I checked with the manual & was advised to store it in a cool place for an hour, which I did. I put it together, plugged it back up & turned it on. The rattling was less noticable but it did not doing at all. Please HELP!!!

Low hanging fruit/easy option would be to identify this item-pic below . I believe it is a capacitor and it has inconveniently blown apart through it’s own label.

It reads

We were using the juicer and there were crackling noises then a big pop and a big stink.

Then it worked- ran- but could not juice anything- no torque.

Opened up. Clearly something had oozed out of the ‘capacitor’?

Black ‘barrel’ shaped bit with silver shmoo coming out…

Oddly, when I plug it in now, it runs but every time you turn it off and back on again it will often run in reverse!? Again there is no torque- it cannot cope with any fruit.

Any help gratefully appreciated.
