Jeep Grand Cherokee: 2005 JGC 3.7 idles nice at light and then runs rough, and stalls?

Hello Everyone, I have a 2005 JGC 3.7 idles nice at light and then runs rough, and feels like it wants to stall and then the idle surges back to smooth idle...sometimes it does stall when I come to a stop and park the vehicles. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Update (04/28/26)

Hi, let me explain better. As I stated, it idles nice and runs nice and when you come to a redlight or stop sign it would idle nice and then it starts idling rough and feels like it wants to stall and then it would will stall or the idle would surge back up and idle nice again. Sometimes when I am parking the vehicle it would just stall. Nothing shows on the obdII scanner as far as codes. I am thinking about replacing the IAC, cleaning the throttle body unit, crankshat or cam sensors....not sure thanks

2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Vibration at speeds above 70MPH

Hello,

My 2014 Grand Cherokee, 5.7L, RWD, Limited, has been exhibiting a vibration noticeable in the steering wheel as well as in the floor of the vehicle at highway speeds ever since I got it in 2013.

It had new tires, brakes (including rotors), rotations, and even new specific part number wheel hubs (front) put on (per the bulletin I found). The issue persisted.

At first I believed the vibration was only in the steering wheel, because it was too difficult to notice anything beyond that. But I eventually noticed that I can also feel and even hear vibration in the rest of the vehicle especially when I have something loose in the trunk.

At this point I am thinking driveshaft, but after those expensive hubs I am not keen on just tossing money at it without asking for advice first.

The vibration used to be bad only between 72 and 80 MPH (going with flow of traffic :) ). Now I believe it only changes frequency but doesn't go away at higher speed. Also noticed that on first drive of a cold day vibration is worse, more aggressive, at least in the steering wheel.

Throwing the car in Neutral doesn't change vibration. Vibration occurs whether i am accelerating, coasting or decelerating.

In the days of heavy traffic I rarely got it up to the vibration speeds. Since 2020, and now being a bit out of the city, it is an issue I experience every time I am on a freeway.

Any help/direction would be highly appreciated.

Igor.

1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Why motor turns over but won't start

I am having an impressively bad time with my 04 grand cherokee overland. It started with a fluctuation in my volt meter on the dash then a long time after that the gauges started going ballistic so I went on a hunt for a loose ground wire… the main body ground in the engine bay was rotting out so I drilled a new hole and re-ran that wire. It started, then a few minutes later the gauges started bouncing all over the place again. I took the center console out to check for loose wires then went to start and engine will only crank over but won't even try to start. I noticed the key icon was on the dash so I considered the possibility that it could be the key chip module or the pcm so I disconnected the battery to see if it would reset. When i reconnected the battery, the alarm started going off. At the same time I lost the driver door functions (windows, door locks as well as all other door window switches but I can operate door locks from other doors). The alarm now goes off if i open any doors other than drivers side or turn the key in the ignition. The driver door jam wiring in the boot is all intact and getting power and grounding (sidenote:the speaker is functioning…) i disconnected the horn and kept checking wiring when a half hour later I discovered fuel was pouring out of the airbox. The motor was completely hydrolocked with fuel so apparently the fuel pump was cranking the whole time the key was just on and the alarm was going off. I have since removed all spark plugs, the fuel relay and cleared the fuel out of the motor as well as drained the oil and gas and put fresh oil in… my code reader will not sync with the vehicle.
