Jaguar: The engine loses power and stalls

Hello everyone,

I own a Jaguar S-Type, model year 2002.5-2003, VIN M55376.

The car has a problem: in the warmer months, after a medium-long journey and when the engine rpm drops to idle

(typically in traffic or when stopping at a stop sign or traffic light), the engine loses power and stalls. At that

point, you have to wait a variable amount of time before the engine can restart, and then you have to maintain a high

rpm (2000 or more) to prevent the problem from recurring.

I have a laptop with Legacy IDS Tools (official Jaguar diagnostic tools) installed, which I connected to the car via a

Mongoose cable. After downloading and clearing the errors, I drove the car for a few days and redownloaded the errors.

Jaguar: Smoke out of the exhaust. I think it has blue tint. So oil related

Usually more visible when it’s a warm day and in stop start traffic. It seems to go away once I have driven non stop at maybe from 30mph and at least 5 miles of non stop driving. It makes me think that something accumulates when engine is off (so could be valve stem seals) and once the engine has pushed all those left over oil out its okay. The smoke is really bad when driving in London (but only if my journey starts in London)

Jaguar: Would not SHUT OFF...Now it won't START! 2013 XF

At first, vehicle would not SHUT OFF..! After pushing the button numerous times the car finally shut down. Now it will not start. Had codes: u0167 and u0426 on my scanner which I hope would assist in the diagnosis of the issue. I had a mobile mechanic look at it and he could not get it to start but thinks the ignition button or the ECM are the problems. Have you ever had this issue in a vehicle?

Jaguar: Why does my temperature guage needle start from the 'normal' position?

Jaguar XK8 2005 - Before putting the key into the ignition I noticed that the temperature guage needle was still at the ‘normal’ position, having failed to return to the ‘cold’ position, when I had last turned the engine off. I started the engine as usual and watched the needle slowly climb into the ‘hot’ position which had now become the new normal. When I turned off the engine the needle returned only to the ‘normal’ position again.

There is no sign of overheating. On the advice from Jaguar, I did a ‘hard test’ on the car by removing the leads from the battery terminals and connecting them together - there was no movement on the temperature guage needle. This situation has not changed for a fortnight but yesterday I noticed before I started the car that the needle had dropped nearer to the ‘cold’ position when I had last turned off the engine and was now not climbing so far towards the ‘hot’ as before. This situation still exists. Any ideas?
