Jack-In-The-Box: turning the handle does nothing

I have a musical Jack in the box that plays “how much is that doggie in the window” and then a puppy pops up. The handle gear mechanism broke so turning the handle does nothing. I don’t have a picture but the handle slowly rotates a lever that eventually knocks the clasp out of the way, opening the lid. I can’t find a replacement mechanism anywhere and can’t repair the one I have.

Jack-In-The-Box: How do I open it to fix the mechanism?

My little girl's toy jack in the box (exactly the same as pictured above) has stopped playing music and popping up. You can hear something rattling inside so I guess a part of the mechanism has broken, is there a way to get inside to take look and then fix it again?

Our Fisher Price Jack in the Box-- the crank turns but no music and it doesn't pop up letting Jack out of the box. can that be fixed? If so how?

Jack-In-The-Box: Missing accessory's. HELP! 1988 limited edition "the court jester"

I collect jack-in-the-box and related items. So I have a limited edition San Francisco music box company court jester. It is very pretty and from what I understand worth quite a bit, but the worth to me is so much more. Its my fave one! Here comes the rant. I have spent all morning looking for his missing accessories! this hasn't been my first search either! When he was given to me they were not there. It wasnt till i looked at him more closly that i realized he was missing some key items. He has a jesters hat and a mask he holds that are both missing. Any ideas on how I might go about finding them? I would love to see him whole again! I have tried everything i can think and am becoming very sad and discouraged! Thanx the little clown lady!

I have a Mattel Jack-In-The-Music Box that when the handle is spun there is no sound and he doesn't pop up.... I am really interested in fixing this! I Googled "repairs for Jack in the Boxes" and that gave me little help. This does happen to be really random, but I need help! Any advice?!
