JBL PartyBox 100: Pluggin in and seeing one charging circle light up and the disappear.

Had a problem with changing. It wouldn’t take a charge. Then bought a new battery and it turns on and works but only one charge light appears and then it’s gone. Is it because the new battery needs charged??
