Irobot Roomba 980: My roomba will not dock to recharge and goes past the invisible towers

HI!

My roomba 980 is only 6 months old, it will not dock to recharge and goes past the invisible walls. Its carpet boost works fine and seems to be running well otherwise. Roomba customer service sucks, they will not repair it because its refurbished (THEY sent me refurbished one after initial purchase came broken). I have recently serviced it. Any advice welcome!

Thanks

Irobot Roomba 980: Roomba gets "stuck" in certain locations

There are three locations in my house where my 981 consistently gets "stuck" and requires a job restart. Since I'm not usually home when he runs, this has become very old.

1) A location in my kitchen where there are no obvious obstacles. There is a low pile entry rug, that's it.

2) Leaving Bathroom #1 where there is a transition threshold from tile to wood flooring, a drop of about 1/2".

3) Leaving Bathroom #2 where there is a similar transition with less of a drop.

Measures taken:

1) Brand new, OEM battery.

2) I have disassembled way down (to exposed PCBs). Blown all dust out of everywhere. Cleaned all sensors.

3) Using a tablet, checked wifi signal at all locations. 2 and 3 are strong, 1 is less so but still not bad.

4) Ran through the BITs, all sensors passed. Even when hooked up to the USB port.

5) Endless reboots.

6) Several factory resets.

Does this ring any bells for anyone? I like Phred. I need Phred because I have a golden retreiver. I just bought new stuff (filters, etc.) for Phred. I don't want a new Phred.

Irobot Roomba 980: Roomba always says "Bin is full" - how to disable the piezo-sensor?

I have a Roomba 980 that displays the message 'bin is full' even when the dustbin has been emptied, and therefore it won't start. I've removed the brush module, but I can't access the piezo sensor to replace it. So my plan is to disable the piezo sensor.
There is a connector on the brush module that connects to the Roomba’s mainboard. Two wires (V+ and GND) go directly to the motor, and three wires (A, B, and DL) go toward the piezo sensor. DR is not connected. I measured a resistance of 5 ohms between A and B.

Now my question is: What would be the best way to disable the piezo sensor, and what side effects could that have?

One of the two charging terminals on the bottom of my Roomba 980 is pushed up into the Roomba. As such the it is unable to charge. I have tore the Roomba down (following a good portion of the motherboard teardown) and can get access to the charging terminal (its the positive teminal, red wire connected to it) but there is a grey cover over the charging terminal that I cannot get out. I have removed the screw, but it will not move (cannot push up from the bottom of device). Any ideas on removal of this?

Image should be attached.

Update: I finally managed to get it off. It looks like there has been some heat buildup on the positive terminal, which has actually melted the retaining bracket.

Irobot Roomba 980: Does the wheel have a tyre?

Hi,

The motors seem to be generating enough power but Roomba moves at a snail’s pace. Is it possible that there is something like a tyre which gives grip to the wheels which has come loose on both wheels? Any other possibilities? There is some resistance to the wheels turning when powered on. Is this normal?

Thanks,
