Infant Optics DXR-8: Freezing after a short while

The monitor will power on and allow switching between the cameras ( I have 2 ), for about a minute or two. Then the image on the screen will freeze, it will go silent, and become completely unresponsive to any button presses, including the power button. The only way I can get it to snap out of if is to pull the battery. Any repair suggestions?

I'm having issues with my Infant Optics DXR-8 Baby Monitor.

My daughter knocked the monitor off a high shelf. I turned the monitor on, everything looked and worked fine. Later that night, while the monitor was plugged in and on, the low battery alarm started going off. I realized that the battery had not been charging even though the monitor was plugged in. For some reason, power from the wall (5VDC I think?) is not making it into the monitor, most likely (in my opinion) because something broke loose when the monitor fell. Has anyone had a similar issue? I'm going to open it up tonight and see if I can see anything obvious, hopefully I'll just need to resolder a lead, but I'm looking to see if anyone has any ideas if there isn't an obvious issue.

Flipping through the other questions on this site, I realized a lot of these monitors are USB charging. This monitor isn't USB, it's a 3.5 mm jack (or similar, maybe slightly smaller).

Infant Optics DXR-8: NO Sound from One Camera But Second one works fine

I all of a sudden can't hear from one of my cameras. I have two paired with the monitor and I can hear the second one fine but can't hear the first one. Any thoughts? I tried blowing out the speaker cord on top of the camera to make sure there wasn't any dust in it and still nothing. At the highest level I can only hear static.

Infant Optics DXR-8: My backlight does not work, but everything else does.

The backlight on the monitor is not working. If you shine a flashlight on the screen you can see it, so the rest of the machine is working, just not the backlight.

Infant Optics DXR-8: I need to replace the power cord receiver located in the monitor.

The monitor has a micro USB female receiving port to charge the battery. If I plug in the USB cable just right the battery charges; however, just right means a combination of things including: laying the unit on it's back; placing a 1-2lb item in the USB cord to maintain the charge. It's annoying and I'm highly confident I just need to replace the receiving end of the charger.

Infant Optics DXR-8: Night Vision Not Working

I had to turn off the breaker to my son’s room for electrical work, and ever since then the monitor shows a much darker picture. At night, you can’t even see the room at all! Does anyone have thoughts on how I can possibly fix this?

Infant Optics DXR-8: The Infant Optix DXR-8 screen image is green.

The image appeared fine for a couple hours, then went green (like an infrared image). We have restarted both the camera and the monitor and re-paired them with no improvement. The start-up screen and menu have normal colouring which makes us think it is something with the camera or connection.

What is causing this and is there a way to fix it?

The circular housing of the lense was pulled off or popped off while in my little one's hands… weirdly though the screen on the monitor shows and image still, but the lense house is fully disconnected. How do I repair?!

There is a nice walk through showing how to pop one of these Infant Optics DXR-8 baby monitors open, but I don't see any sign of the parts for this device in the iFixit store. Can any of you help me find a replacement LCD for the DXR-8? I've googled around a bit, and the best I can find is an overpriced non-functioning monitor on E-Bay that is being sold for parts.

The power button on the monitor unit itself seems to have gone out. As long as we keep it from ever powering off we'll be OK but it would be nice to have a functional button again.
