2000-2006 Hyundai Santa Fe: 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe Wont start.

I have a 05 santa fe with the 2.7L engine that won't start. I bought it this way. Was told that car died and was towed home. Found that alternator was bad. While they were replacing alternator they sparked the ratchet against the block.

Symptoms: cranks but no start.

Checked fuel pressure. Good. (Also tried a little starting fluid still no go)

Noid light tested injectors: good

Spark tested the coil pack. Good.

Tested all relays and fuses. Good.

Pulled ecu to check for moistened or shorts .. No noticeable signs.

Pulled the top cover of timing belt loose to verify belt didn't snap.

Next thinking about pulling all covers to check timing marks...

Any other suggestions?

2007-2012 Hyundai Santa Fe: Had a P0024 code and replaced VVT solenoid, check engine still on

I have a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe SE AWD (V6 3.5L) and the check engine light (P0024 camshaft on bank 2) came one, the car won’t accelerate when it’s in drive (when in park or in reverse the car accelerates/revs up just fine). I got my Engine VVT solenoid replaced and the car ran well. The next morning I go to start my car up and the same issue came up with the car not wanting to accelerate. I’m wondering what other issue could be the cause of this if not a bad solenoid. Any help/input on what to do next?

Hyundai Santa Fe: a real pickle of a problem

Problem description:
Car cranks normally but does not start on diesel. Engine starts immediately when sprayed with Quick Start, then idles normally after several minutes. Gear shifting is harsh and when driven, it stalls and then only cranks again. Do far it has pointed me to the fuel pressure regulator, but it is so difficult to remove, any tips please.

What has been observed:

Starts instantly on Quick Start

Can idle for up to ~10 minutes

Dies under load / when driving

After stalling: crank but no start

No immobiliser issues

Battery is brand new

Starter cranks strongly

No active fault codes at the moment

What has already been done:

Had fuel rail pressure error previously

Replaced fuel rail pressure sensor

After replacement, car started and drove briefly in limp mode

Gearbox engagement became harsh

Then stalled again and returned to crank-no-start

CKP previously logged a fault once, but RPM is visible during cranking

Scan tool shows low but present RPM during crank

No P0088 error currently

2007-2012 Hyundai Santa Fe: 2008 Santa Fe died putting car into drive. All power now lost.

The car has been making a grinding noise on start and while running in park. I put a new starter in (but the noise continued). I investigated online and found it was probably the ignition switch. Before I could install the new switch, the car died after starting, backing up and then (attempted to) put it in drive. The car has lost all power and is stuck in neutral. The windows will not roll up or down and the engine will not turn over when I try to start. I put a new ignition switch in but that did not help the car start. However, I now get the “dinging” noise when the key is in the ignition. Still no power to windows or radio and the car is dead. The windows are still stuck down and the car remains in neutral. I can’t put it in park. I can put it in drive (with the key turned to the “on” position) … but that doesn’t do anything to help the car start or to get the shifter back to park. When I put my foot on the brake, the dinging stops. The dinging also stops when the key is removed (which is difficult to remove). Also, I’m getting dash lights showing the driver door is open (when the door is actually open) … but that’s all. I’m going to install a neutral safety switch (ie., “range sensor”) tomorrow. I rechecked the starter and it’s good. I have no idea what’s going on. Once the car starts again … I still need to know what’s causing the weird grinding/whining noise. All belts are good. Alternator is good. Battery is new. Right now … I just need it to start and run …. then I can figure out what the noise is (gringing/whining).
