I have been using my HyperX Cloud 2 for several weeks now. However, a few days ago, the cable got stuck, bent and the tip of the 3.5mm TRRS headphone jack split in two.

I have ordered a replacement 3.5mm TRRS jack, but haven't yet figured out the correct connections to solder on the jack.

Could anyone offer help in finding these and possibly give some advice on the soldering?

Kingston HyperX Cloud II: Can I fix the Headphone 3.5mm that only works in Certain positions

My Hyper X Cloud 2 Gaming Headset has a 3.5mm plug that only works when the cable is bent in a certain direction implying that the connection has come loose and can only make a connection in a certain direction. It is plugged into the included 7.1 surrond remote but I have confirmed this happens in multiple ports i.e my phone, computer, other phones etc. This creates a situation where 1 ear is always working and the second is flakey. To solve this I have been bending the cable a using a clip to keep it in the sweet spot as best as I can for the longest amount of time (It never holds). The "ideal spot" does change and requires a lot of playing because I guess the cable shifts around not sure.

The Fix:

The jack is covered in plastic as well as some anti-bend plastic design like layered rings, you know. The cable is also braided which could run into some interesting problems. Does anyone think it would be possible to cut open the plastic and resolder the connection to stop this from happening or not? These are just my backup since my main are RMA right now (whoops). Bottom line I don't really care if I have to cover it up with electrical tape if it works. I really want to try to repair if possible I have a good amount of electronic tools and knowledge but I am worried what I find won't be as simple as a little loose solder connection of some sort.

Kingston HyperX Cloud II: Right ear quit working

Out of nowhere the right here stopped working so i wiggled the wire a little it gave a little sound for a couple minutes. Then just stopped completely. I couldn't find my receipt so the warranty is out of thee question. So i decided id take the thing apart and try to fix it myself. I got inside and im not sure what to do now. There are no videos on how to do it so i need some help. The wires seem to be soldered in place but im not sure if they need to be connected to something else. Kingston HyperX Cloud II: HyperX Cloud Core, Left ear not working

The left ear on my HyperX Cloud Core stopped working, when i wiggle the wire sometimes it does return the sound for a second. I haven't noticed any problems with the wires which is why this seems weird to me. http://imgur.com/lDjHv6i here is a picture of the left ear inside.

HyperX Gaming Headset: What is the proper wiring for HyperX Core Stinger TRRS connector?

I am rewiring a broken TRRS connector.

Unfortunately, the plug was so damaged that I am unable to probe the TRRS plug with the wires to determine the positions.

Since most HyperX devices are CTIA - the wiring should be:

Tip - Left Audio

Ring 1 - Right Audio

Ring 2 - Ground

Sleeve - Microphone

My issue is that it seems I have 6 wires.

RED / GREEN / Striped BLUE-COPPER / BLUE / WHITE with surround copper

The colors don’t seem to matter. Doing research on this yielded different color combination wiring from different headsets.

So I was looking for advice / confirmation on my wiring.

So for I have the audio working but not the mic.

(as an extraneous question, should the mic work if connected to a smartphone?

I wired it

TIP - GREEN (Left Audio)

Ring1 - RED ( Right Audio)

Ring 2 - Striped Blue-Copper (Ground)

Sleeve - White (Mic)

My direct question is:

Is the copper souring the white wire the Mic ground and attached to Ring 2?

Where does the blue wire go? Is that also a ground for the audio or mic?

I would really appreciate some help. Thank you.

Cloud orbit s: HyperX Cloud Orbit S Broken Connection

The connection between the R earpad and the headband is broken. Since it is out of warranty, the HyperX support team won't have it fixed. However, when I ask if I can purchase a replacement for that part, they told me they won't sell any of the replacement parts. What should I do now to fix my headphone?

HyperX Cloud Alpha: Sound in 1 ear is muffled.

Sound from the ear cup where the printplate is located is muffled when tapping the earcup the sound briefly returns. upon inspection of the connections and all the components of the print plate I see nothing lose/damaged. What could be the cause ?

My headset fell off my head and the left speaker just popped out! Everything is still plugged into the speaker its just the speaker being out of place. I can't bend it back into place because its metal. HELP MEEE

I’ve been reading the answers to other questions on this item and I’ve figured out what is wrong with my hyperx cloud 2 headset with a broken mic. I determined that the problem with my headset wasn’t the mic at all but the cable going from the left ear to the 3.5 mm jack. The problem is that my cable didn’t break at the jack nor did it break at the ear. Instead it seems to be shorting right at the middle where the cable has had a stubborn bend in it since it came out of the box. I’d like to replace the cable altogether but I’m having trouble sourcing a reliable replacement as most of the ctia 4 pole cables on amazon and the like a) have only 4 wires on the inside (instead of 5) and b) have a reputation for failing. Somebody posted that they had success bridging the two grounds together but I worry that that might mess with sound and or mic quality. Ideally I’d like to source a cable that has the same setup as the hyperx cables with the left, right and ground separated from mic and ground but I have no idea how to even specify that that is what I’m looking for in a google search. I contacted hyperx and they couldn’t give me any help other than to say their cable was a standard ctia. Should I instead just order a diy trss plug and a 5 or six wire cable from aliexpress and make my own cable? If so what gauge wire should I pick? Any help would be appreciated.
