Huawei nova: Huawei lock screen stays black once it is locked

Hello,

i have a Nova 3E and I’ve noticed this problem after every software update (which generally disappears a few days) where the lock screen fails to turn on fully.

The screen works fine. If I restart my phone, the lock screen loads and I can unlock my phone. Once the phone is unlocked, it works perfectly.

But the moment I press the lock button or when the screen timeout, I cannot unlock my phone again. Pressing the lock button will light up the screen. But instead of the lock screen, I just get a black screen (LCD screen is on, its just black). Despite the black screen, I know the lock screen is ‘on’ since I am able to utilise the flashlight shortcut with my fingers.

To me, it does not feel like a hardware issue since the screen works in every other way.

I have tried the following:

disable magazine on the lock screen

removed password

change the theme

wiped cache partition

So far, the only way I can use my phone is to set the screen timeout to never. Once I restart my phone and unlock it for the very first time, I cannot let the screen turn off.

Is this happening to anyone else and is there a solution to this other than a full factory reset?

Huawei nova: After replacing the battery and the power circuit, the screen is black

Hello.

I have recently replaced the battery in my Huawei Nova CAN-L01, along with the power circuit (the USB dock etc.).

The replacement wasn’t really hard but I have a major problem now.

I have tried to boot the phone, and the screen is just black. The backlight works, the OS boots fine (PC detects it), it responds to pressing the power button (backlight turns on or off), BUT no image is displayed.

My first thought was that the LCD got damaged since replacing the battery requires a lot of flexing around it, but It was not - I have tested another working LCD and it is also black.

I have also cleaned the LCD connector with IPA.

I have tried disconnecting the battery and holding the power button for over 5 minutes - didn’t work.

I cannot hard reset the phone since the screen is black and I can’t see the hard reset menu.

I have also tried booting with the old battery and old power circuit, but the result is the same.

Any clues of what could I do?

Huawei nova: Why do my long presses get cut off when I touch the edge of the screen

I've noticed this issue when I was playing a game that required me to hold down a button at the very edge of the screen for long periods of time. I then experimented with my home screen icons. I noticed that when I long press at the very edge of the screen, it gets cut off even though my finger is still holding it. This applies to both the left and right edges of my screen. When I select and long press an icon in my home screen, it's normal and the icon pops out, ready to be rearranged. But when I hold an icon that's at the edge of the screen and I hold the very edge of it, the icon darkens, meaning it knows that I am touching it, but then the darkness disappears after a second even though I haven't moved my finger. Pls help

Huawei nova: How can I make dialer fill screen for visually impaired?

Huawei Nova Plus,Emui 5.0, Android 7.0

My visually impaired father uses voice activation, but sometimes he's somewhere he'd rather not make noise. How can I set up his call dialer pad so it takes up the whole screen? Right now it is only filling the bottom 2/3 of the screen, and has call history on the top 1/3. It would be very helpful if the dial screen took up the entire screen. If there were a way to make the actual numbers on the buttons larger, that would be a bonus. Thank you very much!
