Huawei P9: Touch response issue after LCD replacement

Hi.

I have replaced the LCD on several P9’s but the last two i have done have had a problem with the touch response after replacement.

The touch works on entire surface but it seems as if you do a fast swipe the phone does not registrate this, but only slower swipes.

I have tried different LCD’s but same problem.

Anyone seen this? Is it software related perhaps?

Huawei P9: Screen flickers when pressing on/off button after start up

Hi,

I have just replaced the screen and battery on my friends Huawei P9. Once I boot the phone up everything looks great. I get the startup logo and then the home screen displays. However, once the display goes to sleep if I press the on/off button to wake the phone the screen does not respond properly. I press the button and the screen flashes quickly/flickers and wont respond to any input. The only way I can get it to work properly is to hard rest the device, but then the error returns again once the phones display goes to sleep.

While I was trying to fix it, I inadvertently launched the camera app just using the side buttons. Once I backed out of this app (I think I pressed the on/off button, I cant remember) the screen worked again and now displays correctly. It now responds to normal button presses etc. The problem has not returned since, but im worried it might come back.

Can anyone explain what happened, or what to do if this problem returns again. Is it a firmware issues? Or an issue with installing the new components? Are the Buttons on the way out?

Thanks

Huawei P9: Replacement screws for Huawei P9

Hi,

A friend tried to replace the screen on my Huawei P9 and got about half way through before returning it for me to complete the task.

Unfortunately the screws on either side of the USB socket that seal the phone were missing when I got it back and cannot be found by my friend.

Does anyone know the precise size of the screws so I can try to replace them, or better still if someone knows where I might be able to buy replacements from?

Ifixit don't stock the screws themselves so I'd need some phone repair store that's got a dead P9 in stock who can reclaim the screws for me.

Thanks all.

Huawei P9: Screen over rear facing camera

I think I may of lent on my Huawei P9 and have cracked the small plastic cover that protects the main dual camera and flash. I note that Huawei's Gold care service only covers the main screen and a guy on the service line suggested that to get this tiny strip of plastic replaced would cost me around £60, seems a tad excessive. Can anyone offer me advice on how or if I could do this myself and if so where could I source the part required?

Many thanks.
