Huawei P10 lite: Battery percentage stalls when plugged in

Hi,

I recently replaced the LCD assembly on a P10 lite. During the process, I tore open the battery by mistake. No big deal, new battery. After all was done, the phone just wouldn't charge. I tried other batteries and chargers and still nothing. Any idea what went wrong? Could the LCD be the blame?

I have to mention that about a month ago I replaced the LCD assembly on another P10 lite and all went well.

Huawei P10 Lite: Dropped a phone into water, tried to repair but now does not charge

Hello guys,

TLDR:

Dropped a phone into water, dismantled, cleaned etc. Now it work again except for audio (minor problem) and charging (major problem). Even tried a new battery.

INTEGRAL VERSION:

My father-in-law dropped his new phone in the bathroom sink. Unfortunately it was full of water… Lucky him, i’m pretty good at fixing stuff. Not-so-lucky me, smartphones are quite out my comfort zone… But i was confident because the only problem was a flickering screen. Touch, vibration and the charging led appeared to work.

So, bought a brand new iFixit kit and started fixing (apparently without breaking anything), found some water inside, cleaned with a dry contact cleaner, a brush and tested again.

Aaaand nothing, same problem, with a closer look (and a magnifier lens) i found a resistor (i think), under the front camera flat cable, detached from one side. With a bit of soldier paste, a very steady hand (not really) and a careless attitude (a lot of this) i put that little rebel back to its place. And the magic happened! The screen now works again.

Connected to a power supply, checked the touch screen, the connectivity, buttons, audio won’t work (i’ll deal with it later), the power led turn on, but, the percentage won’t grow… Actually it’s decreasing… Turned it off again and checked some spots with a multimeter, the power board seems to work and the flat cable too, but i have no idea what kind of value i should find, the micro usb have the 5v, the flat cable and the battery “plug” have some 1,79v and there is a “point” with a + sign that gave me a 0,11v.

Replaced the battery with a new one (worth a shot) didn’t solve the problem and i’m here, out of ideas, looking for help. I can provide pictures and other details if needed.

Thank you all.

Huawei P10 Lite: Brand new lcd screen suddenly goes black after turning it on

Hello,

I've replaced the shattered lcd screen of my Huawei P10 Lite using a non-official replacement bought on ebay.

When turning on the device, the screen works for less than a second (with very low brightness) then stops working.

Phone boots normally, but the display can't retain the image. It was confirmed when seeing my lockscreen wallpaper when pressing the power button.

I've tested my old broken lcd and it doesn't goes black instantly as the new one. It "lights" normally.

Could the new lcd is defective or has compatibility issues due the fact that wasn't fabricated by Huawei?

Huawei P10 Lite: P10 Lite Replacement battery not charging

Recently I ordered a replacement battery for my Huawei P10 Lite to replace my aging and dying battery.

The part I ordered was https://eustore.ifixit.com/products/huaw...

After I had replaced the battery and turned it on, everything worked fine and the battery was supplying current to the device, but when I plugged in the charger, the battery didn’t charge. For 1 frame, you could see the battery indicator in the status bar switch to charging, after which it goes back to a non-charging state. The battery would remain supplying power to the device, but wouldn’t charge.

I know the issue is not with the device, since whenever I plugged back in te old battery, that one would still charge fine.

This has led me to believe the issue is with the replacement battery.

What I also noticed with regards to the battery, is that the model that was included in the fix kit has “SD-HW-P9PLUS” written on the flex cable to connect the battery, while this model isn’t included in the compatible devices list on the store page.

Furthermore, the flex cable has a different shape/length to the one listed in the store page and the one in my device. (See included pictures.)

What can I do to resolve this issue? Was the battery supplied in te repair kit an incompatible part for my device?

Thanks in advance!
