Huawei P10: Water damaged phone, boots up but screen not working

The phone got drowned ca. 4 months ago. It didn't spend much time in the water, it was quickly pulled out.

When I charge it up and try to start it, it vibrates and I see the LED diode flickering. It seems like a screen problem to me.

Today, I opened it, and I barely saw any damage at first. I first replaced the old screen with a new one. Doesn't work. I then noticed that a few pins at the edge of the screen connector on the logic board are black. I think this might be the problem.

Not really sure what it is, I think those pins got shorted from the water. I have no idea how to clean it.

So far I tried scratching it off with 99% isopropylalcohol and a knife, but it just doesn't come off.

I have submerged it into iso and it's sitting there right now, however, I doubt it's gonna help.

Huawei P10: Why does my Huawei P10 not charge with more power than it consumes?

Device: Huawei P10 (VTR-l09)

Symptoms:

When plugged in, the phone recognizes the charger but the battery state of charge does not increase but rather decreases. The charger and cable are fine (about 1A of charging current measured with other device) and the phones power consumption is not unusually high (no streaming, no games, the phone does not really get hot). When turned off the phone does not even recognize the charger.

The problem occured after i replaced the display with the help of an iFixit tutotial (no offence). After i had checked the corrected installation multiple times and it still did not work I reinstalled the old original display and replaced the old battery with a new one.

Sadly the problem did not disappear. A factory reset also did not help. What could be the cause of the Problem? Could the problem potentially be solved by replacing the little chargeport pcb?

I appreciate any of your thoughts on this, thanks a lot in advance!

Huawei P10: Huawei P10 rebooting and glitchy after screen repair

Hi, I replaced the screen on my Huawei P10 and when I boot up to the lockscreen and enter my pin the screen goes black and it reboots to the HUAWEI logo. Very rarely I will get past the lock screen and will be able to use the phone perfectly for a while but will get a sudden reboot. A couple of observations: When I do get it working and the screen is asleep, pressing the power button will not always wake it up. It wakes but the screen stays black and I have to hold down the power button to reboot again. The proximity sensor is not working when I am on calls - the screen stays lit up when I have the phone close to my face. I dissassembled the phone many times, checked all connections and removed and reinserted the proximity sensor. Still no joy! Just wondering if anyone can offer advice from experience. Best wishes

Huawei P10: Unresponsiv Touchscreen after replacement on the lower left side.

HI, I replaced the battery and screen on a Huawei P10 for my cousin. It worked out fine, everything restarted as usual. After a few hours she contacted me and said the screen would be sometimes unresponsiv on the lower leftside and bottom side, around the area of the keyboard. It only happens for a few seconds and then it keeps on working. I bought the display on the website of iFixIt, so I guess the qualitiy is fine. Unsure if I did something wrong or just had bad luck with the replacment unit and have to send it back and ask for a replacement again. Any suggestions?

Huawei P10: Display back light not working after screen replacement.

Hello Everyone,

I replaced a cracked screen on a p10 with a new one. when i tested the screen everything worked perfectly. i disconnected and then continued to install the screen. when everything is installed the back light does not turn on. i can see the screen is working fine with a lamp pointed at it, and the touch works perfectly.

Since I am not super skilled myself, im not sure how to fix this problem myself. in my search i came across examples of p9s with this problem, that people were able to "jump a diode" to fix. is this a possibility on the p10, and if so, is there any resources i could use to do this myself?

Thank you
