I turned my Tablet on and the screen says type password to decrypt storage. It has never done this, I have never put a password on it, and it wont let me go past that screen, won’t even give me an option to factory reset, it’s either power off or type in the password. How do I get this off?

Hisense Sero 8: The tablet blacks out then powers back on saying it needs a password

The tablet will suddenly blackout and you have to wait a few seconds before it turns itself back on. Once it comes on it says it needs a password to decrypt the storage, but a password was never put on it. It cannot be opened and the only half-solution I have found is to factory reset the thing, meaning everything on the tablet is lost.

Any ideas what the password could be?

When I switch my tablet on, the screen showing "Hisense Powered by Android" comes up fine but it will not move/do anything from then on. It is completely frozen.

I have let it completely discharge the battery and recharged it again but it is still the same.

When I switch it off it won't stay switched off but after about 5 secs comes on again of its own accord.

Admittedly I haven't used it for around 6 months (it has just sat in a drawer) but it was working perfectly previously.

Anyone have any ideas to get it going again?
