Bose QuietComfort 20i: Bose QC20i will not power on or charge after power surge - Troubleshooting board-level damage

My Bose QuietComfort 20i headphones stopped working entirely after a power surge occurred while they were charging. Currently, they will not power on and show no indicator lights when plugged into a USB power source.

I have already opened the control module to inspect the internals. The battery (PR-452035) appears to be dead, but I suspect the surge may have damaged the charging circuitry or the Power Management IC on the board.

Has anyone successfully diagnosed or repaired a QC20 board after a power surge? Are there specific protection diodes or fuses on this board that commonly fail in this scenario? I have a multimeter and soldering iron ready if there are specific components I should test for shorts.

Recently, my xm6 headphones just stopped pausing videos when I take them off. The problem doesn't seem to be internal (or maybe I'm wrong) but it works when I take off the earpad for that side. The ANC and microphone both seem to work just fine. I have dried the earcup and It still doesn't work. How do I fix this?

I have loved the xm6, with the exception of a few gripes. However, now mine are broken. I get no sound out of the right ear speaker. The ANC mics on the right cup may be working -- but only producing results on the left.
SteelSeries Arctis 7 2019 Edition Wireless: Problem after charging connector repair

Hi,

I decided to try to fix the SteelSeries Arctis 7 (2019 Edition) wireless headphones.

The microUSB charging connector was broken and I couldn't charge the headphones.

The connector broke off from the PCB and caused some damage there. I gave up on soldering a new connector in advance, I decided to just use two wires for charging only.

When I opened the headphones, I immediately put a new battery in them - Maybe I didn't do that smartly because I did two things at once.

I soldered the wires where the connector was and applied hot glue around it so the wires wouldn't break right away.

First day - headphones looked fine. New battery seemed to be charging (LED gradually changed color from yellow to green).

test a few hours of operation - no problems.

The next day - the headphones won't turn on.

They only turn on when they are connected to the charger. When I disconnect them from the charger, they turn off after a few seconds and won't turn on. I tried the HW reset button.

I don't know if it's a problem with the new battery or a repair on the connector. It seems strange to me that they worked on the first day.
My main question:

The first day when I was soldering the wires for charging, I momentarily mixed up the polarity of +5V.

So I connected the charger with the polarity reversed, but after I realized it and put it in correctly, the headphones worked and I did the test for a few hours from battery.

Do you think the damage caused by reversed polarity would only become apparent the next day?

Do you have any tips on what I can try, let's say in amateur conditions?

Currently, the battery voltage is 4.1 V. They won't turn on unless I plug them into the charger. Then I can turn them on.

When they are connected to the charger, I can turn them on and pair them with the PC and they work - but they are not "wireless" then.

Thank you for any response, I hope you are doing well and have a lot of success with your work on YouTube.

AirPods Pro: Airpod Pro Left Earbud Not Connecting to Charging Case

for a while now, I realised how my left earbuds have a really hard time connecting properly to the charging case. I only noticed after continuously picking up my aipods and find out the left one is empty.

I did contact apple customer service once and they suggested to bring it to an apple repair store. The only available near me happened to be an authorised store and not an actual apple store. I did book a repair and they took it in and made me come back after 1h, only to then tell me there’s nothing they can do?

They did however, clean and reset my airpods, which did not solve my problem.

Now before I tried contacting apple again, and maybe try and book a repair at an actual apple store, I thought I see if anyone had the same issue and maybe has a solution.

I bought mine in January, so I still have the 1 year apple warranty.

Note: I also noticed how sometimes my devices show different % of charge the earbuds have left. They sometimes seem to not update frequently… not sure if that has to do with the problem, but I’ve seen people have that before.

AirPods 3: AirPods 3 Left Earbud No Sound After Drop - Internal Inspection

I dropped my AirPods 3 while they were in the case. Now the left earbud has no sound at all, even though it still shows as charging and connected on my phone. I have already tried resetting them and checking the audio balance settings.

I have physically opened the earbud to inspect it. What should I look for inside that could cause a total loss of sound after a drop? Are there specific ribbon cables or solder joints for the speaker driver that are known to fail? Any advice on how to test the speaker driver or reconnect it would be appreciated.
