I have hard bags on my Harley,the kind that have the hinges and the lock is on the side with the latch is on the inside top of the lid. Installed locks,they lock when I lock it with open lid,but if I close lid and latch shut,they don't lock. Any body know how to fix this.

I have a Harley-Davidson 1999 sportster 1200. I get a hard fast clicking sound when trying to start. I Have put the battery on a charger and let it charge overnight. It still does the same thing. Is this a bad battery? I left it hooked up to the charger and tried to start with the charger in start mode and still just clicking sound.

I've owned the bike for many years and it has always had what I feel is a misfire but now it is very frequent. I have changed plugs and wires. Compression check wide open throttle had front cylinder about 100psi and back 125psi. Changed intake/exhaust valves on front cylinder and now both have 125psi but problem still exists. If you put your hand in front of the air intake when it happens, a puff of air comes out against your hand. Has anyone else had this problem or an idea as to what is causing it?

Bike was dead. Had wife help jump the bike with a battery charger. Hooked up the charger and when I plugged it in the horn blew. Maybe 1 second or less. Found charger was backwards. Made sure everything was correct on 2nd attempt and started the bike. It idols and runs but now have no throttle when I twist it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Harley-Davidson: My speedometer light works intermittently

On my 2009 stock dyna streetbob the backing light for the speedometer goes out at cruising rpm. When I let off the throttle and go back to idle rpm the light comes back on. This happens consistently. All other lights, the speedometer, odometer and clock are all working correctly.

So I couldn't find a thread, sorry my Harley friends. I have a vitacci rocket 150, it's a mini street bike.... I just changed the stator from an 8 pole to an 11 pole. My headlights aren't working. It's hooked up right and is charging my bike but the headlights... so when I switched the stator, the old on had 3 wires, the new one has 4. Went from 2 positives and ground to 3 positive and ground. Could it be because that extra yellow wire that IS getting power but bot feeding anything? And if that's the problem to my head/tail lights, can I just run the extra wire in with one of the other yellow wire? Ty in advance. Think I know the answers already but

My 1991 harley davidson softail has a brand new battery installed and i keep having to jump it to get it to start. I tested the voltage while it was running and it sits at 12.5 12.6 and doesnt go higher. Does anyone know what this may be from?

I have a 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster Evolution. I have NO digital clock/screen, horn,indicators,rear back/brake lights, reg light

I have engine start

Turn key to ignition,it starts,turn key slightly back a couple of mills and everything comes back on.

So between ACC-IGNITION.I have connection.

I also have digital clock display stand down,when it is up.

Harley-Davidson Sportster Evolution: Why can't I shift out o gear?

I have a first bike that has been in an accident with no apparent damage except to frame. I have good auto mechanical experience. None on Harleys.

The gear shift lever does not shift gears. Some thing is going on in the trans but no solid connections. No spring action on the lever. The bike is in gear and won't shift. What's broken?

Is there an online video or tutorial on inspecting for damage? I don't want to tear into something that requires special tools and equipment to result into taking a box of parts to a dealer.

I have an 02 sportster with similar problems an won’t start just clicks! I can push to start it and it runs and rides just fine I can ride for hours but as soon as I turn the bike off, click click click… but yesterday the bike started right up, no problems. Rode 15 20 mins turned the bike off click click! I don’t have any lights on my cluster, Speedo doesn’t work it’s stuck on 30 mph right now, the neutral light or blinkers don’t light up on cluster either but the brightlight symbol comes on every now and then.. could I have a short or something somewhere??
