HTC One Mini: Front glass broken, do I need Glass, LCD or Digitizer?

HTC One Mini dropped onto stone floor, front glass is cracked.

Touch functionality still works and the image seems fine behind the broken glass parts.

Now I've asked some online stores in my country about parts, and they said that I would need to replace the whole front (LCD+Digitizer+Front Frame) and offers me a package deal. To me this seems like more than I would need?

I figured it's only the front glass which is broken and needs to be replaced?

So how can I be sure of exactly what parts needs to be replaced? What parts would I need considering that the touch and image is seemingly fine?

HTC One Mini: Best way to maintain pressure to fix a broken ribbon cable?

Previously, I broken a LCD connector: Are LCD FPC connectors that fragile?

The result is that my screen was no longer displaying correctly.

However, I managed to make it work again. It seems to be a contact problem.

To recover the use of the screen, I did not have to put pressure on the broken part of the connector where the pins are visible (it was ineffective), but rather on the black part of the ribbon cable just before the connector. It also works if I put pressure on the golden part below the black part.

I tweaked it using a tweezer, but now I would like to know how to maintain the pressure permanently in order to reassemble my smartphone?

I do not have very sophisticated equipment. I tried with duct tape but it did not hold it with enough pressure. I thought of glue, would it do the trick? Below the golden part is the battery, so electronic components should not be damaged.

I have already made a huge mistake once, I prefer to ask your opinion on the best way to solve my problem rather than make a mistake twice.

HTC One Mini: HTC SIM card stuck in slot without tray

Hi

Am in the UK so not sure if this model is used elsewhere. Have seen the guide for HTC One Teardown and think this handset would be as difficult to get in to!

Problem is a novice one but I need a solution. The micro SIM has been put in to the SIM slot without the tray. Simple human error except now stuck fast and using the pin device thing for SIM ejection doesnt move it.

Brand new phone! Any ideas on what to do apart from send to repairs .Tried needle/pin so far. Is it easy to damage the components doing this?

Many Thanks

HTC One Mini: Powering on with a broken power button

Hello guys, I've been having kind of a big problem with my HTC. I dropped it a few times and the casing tore away from the top part and the bottom part of my phone, including the power button. normally I'd just get a new casing so I could use it, but the mechanism itself tore off too, meaning that getting a new button or casing won't really fix it.

I was wondering if there is a way to boot up my phone through my pc. I've been searching around and it seems to be fairly simple for most Android phones, however, since HTC One's block your access to the battery, I cannot use any of the tips others give me.

I do not have warranty anymore, so I'm not afraid of doing the bigger things. It is also rooted.

Right now, the phone is still on and I wake it up by using lock widgets and using the volume button. I am however still scared about not being able to charge it on time to keep it alive.

Thanks in advance!

HTC One Mini: Do HTC one mini's have internal SD cards?

My phone died years ago (stuck in bootloader) and ahead of binning it I was wondering if it had an internal sd card I could extract (by ripping it apart) to get hold of my photos. I’ve looked at a few replacement videos, but can’t see if the internal memory is as simple as an SD card.

As you can guess, I’m not expecting to put it back together!

Hi , I am confused about something. My screen works fine but it is really cracked. The touch screen works and the display works as well, but there is this purple & green line down the middle of my screen. Half of screen turns white when I turn the phone on but when I turn the brightness all the way up, the white goes away and the screen works as it should. But every once in a while my brightness will go down and it will turn white again but I turn it back up and it works. Would I need an LCD screen or a Digitizer screen?

I noticed that when I pressed it while my smartphone was turned on, it was instantly switched off and it was then complicated to restart it (I have to unclip the tab attached to the battery, wait several minutes, etc.).

I find it difficult to close my smartphone in its shell because of this switch that forces me to re-disassemble the smartphone every time. This happens even if the smartphone was turned off before, then I can not turn it on.

Does anyone know what this component is and what is it for, please?

As you can see, there is several of it around the board but this is the only one which sutdown my phone.

HTC One Mini: Are LCD FPC connectors that fragile?

Long story short: I am an idiot and I tried to open a FPC connector from the front instead of the back. Obviously, this was not good at all and part of the connector is now broken and teared.

This is not beautiful to see.

As a result, when the screen is supposed to turn on, there appears noisy multicolored pixels.

I do not want to give up and I considered buying a motherboard to replace it.

However, do you think the problem is indeed related to this connector?

I mean, certainly the plastic is broken but how is it so important for the screen to work? The pins are still present and therefore the contacts should be made pretty much correctly. Can a slightly damaged pin be the cause of this weird screen?

All opinions are welcome. After many attempts at repair, I do not know which direction to take.

Hello experts,

HTC One Mini: How do I attach replacement power button to main board?

Power button ribbon ripped and trying to replace it. I have new ribbon/button part but how is it actually connected to the top PCB? Old button assembly appeared to be adhered with heatless solder paste - but how should the tracks be aligned for this to be used?

Desperately need to fix daughter's phone...

Thanks in advance
