HTC One M8: Phone won't charge, charge slot burned

The other day charging my phone, my phone charger ended up burning my charging chip inside my HTC M8. The phone still works but when attempting to turn it on, the phone just keeps showing it is at 0% even with multiple different tries using different chargers. Looking inside the charging slot you can clearly see the chip is toasted. Is this replaceable and or fixable? I rather fix it, even if it's by someone else than to buy an entire new phone.

Thanks ahead

HTC One M8: Why does the Restart Instruction keep popping up?

Recently my phone has had the Restart Instruction , "To restart your phone, press and hold power and volume up buttons for 10 seconds" popping up all the time without me even trying to restart my phone. I try to take it off by hitting the screen on/off button and it goes away after a few click, but it ends up coming back. I'm still able to use my phone but the message is right in the middle of the screen so it makes it hard to see what i'm typing. When I hit the home button while the message is still on, it'll take a screenshot. Also sometimes when the message goes away and it looks all clear, I hit the home button and it still takes a screenshot. Like if the message was still there just invisable. It's been happening for a while and it's gotten very annoying and frustrating

HTC One M8: HTC One M8 camera keeps crashing randomly only while using rear camera

Hello,

My HTC One M8 (T-mobile) has been acting up lately. The camera crashes randomly when I open the camera app and use the rear camera. There is no error message, it just crashes and phones goes back to the home screen.

There are no issues while using the front camera.

I have tried other camera apps too, same fate.

Anyone facing similar issues?

I have tried force stop, clear cache, clear data, factory reset and even re-flashed the ROM. Nothing helped.

Update: both camera work fine with this app called OpenCamera, it does not crash like the HTC camera and Google camera app.

HTC One M8: Device will not power on after battery ran dry?

My HTC One M8 will not charge or power up. The phone ran out of charge one evening (first time I let it do so, previously I had always put it on the charger prior to complete battery drain). I hooked it to the charger and the red "charging" LED would not turn on. I've tried several different chargers and power outlets, the phone is four months old, it's never been dropped nor has it ever been wet. I do not know if it is charging, as I have not been able to get it to power on since. The only odd thing I've noticed (besides it not functioning) is that when I plug the charger cable into the phone, an amber LED will light for a few brief seconds. I have tried a soft reset and I've also tried the steps for battery recalibration.

HTC One M8: Glacially slow charging speed HTC M8

OK, so I have a six year old HTC M8 that is in pristine condition having been in a HD case since day one.

It had a new battery a couple of years ago.

Recently it’s been charging really slowly and cutting out when using the camera. It was showing an error stating ‘slow charging - use a HTC charger /cable’ (or something like that).

So I took it to a local tech guy whose work I trust. I asked him to replace the battery and the charging port/board/flex.

It’s not worked and it’s taking 24hrs to charge to 100%,. I can’t work out whether it charges faster tuned on or off. When charged, it holds the charge really well.

I know the phone is six years old but it’s immaculate and works great when it’s got charge. I’m trying to get to ten years. Hahaha

Anybody got any pointers please?

HTC One M8: Power button not working.

Hi, my girls phone recently started doing this weird thing where it appears that the power button is being pressed down even though the button isn't being press or stuck in the pressed position. I order a replacement part, the daughter board that has the power button on it and after I did it appeared to be working correctly. Then about a day or so later the power button stopped working all together. Not sure what the issue might be other than a bad part but I find it strange that it was working and then just went out all together.

HTC One M8: New battery no charging no power

This phone is several years old and has worked flawlessly so I thought worth fixing. It recently started getting very hot when powered up and not holding a charge. Just installed a new battery carefully following your iFixit guide. Not a simple procedure but I double checked, all physical connections were good. Power button was in place on reassembly and volume sensors in place as well. Now when plugged into 5v 2.1amp charger (or any other for that matter), the red light flashes once every second but the phone never gets charged and will not start. I have held the power button and volume for over two minutes, plugged and unplugged. I then get a solid red light for one second, then a short green light for 1/4 second, then a red light for one second, a one second pause, then five red flashes at one second intervals. Then the sequence starts again. It never charges up and will not power up. Is this thing toast?
