HTC Evo 4G: Ink on notification LED, best way to remove it?

Hi all, long story short, there is now Sharpie ink on the notification LED under the speaker grill on the front of the phone.

I know I can remove it with rubbing alcohol, but trying to leach it off by letting alcohol set on the grill & then soaking it up with a QTIP failed to remove it, it just diluted it and let it spread out over the LED even more, so now it's all but invisible.

Where is the LED located? Is it on the back side of the logic board, or all the way in the front display assembly? Can I just leave the ribbon cables in place & flip the logic board back to clean it off, or will I have to go all the way to removing the glass?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,

Jesse C.

HTC Evo 4G: Dropped phone. Why striped unresponsive screen, yet phone audio and m

I dropped my phone. Now, as I turn on the device, I can hear all the audio activity. But the screen lights up with numerous vertical lines. Some thin, some wide, and some others even wider. Within a few minutes, the screen fades to black. No apps showing, nor am I able to use any of the four icon buttons at the bottom the phone. I can still use the volume, and can hear chimes of when incoming message actvity or other notifications takes place. In fact while its on it even prompts my wake alarm as I had t set before the drop. Can't silence the alarm unless I take the battery off, as there is nothing on screen for me to select. Is there any hope on repairs for this device.

HTC Evo 4G: Multiple problems with HTC.

My 'POWER BUTTON' stopped working normally as it should in the Summer. It would work, I just would have to push it twice or three times for it to work. But then as a few months went by, it worked perfectly fine..why is that?

When I charge my phone, I have to move the charger a certain way for it to charge, no matter if the charger's old or new...how come?

A few months ago, I was watching an Youtube video while charging my phone since it was on very low battery. My phone began to become very hot and then went black and has been like that ever since. I've research and I tried doing a hard reset, the menu came up once but went black again, possibly due to the charger problem I just stated above. For the past few months I tried to do an hard reset but the menu NEVER pops up...perhaps the screen is broken...help? Every answer counts!

HTC Evo 4G: Micro-USB power port is broken

After only two weeks, the HTC Evo's micro-USB power port failed, maintaining a connection only when I press on the connector in one specific position. I can pay Sprint $120 for a new phone (They won't cover this kind of damage, even though the problem is an obvious factory defect or design flaw.), or I can send it to HTC for repair (paying for outbound shipping and waiting up to 10 days to get my Evo back). How difficult would it be for a non-expert to resolder the connector?
