HTC Desire HD: Why don't the volume buttons work?

The volume buttons on the side of the phone do not work. They have come loose but when pressing down on them, there is still the sensation of a button being pressed however, there is on reaction on the screen. The phone has been factory reset so it seems to be a hardware problem however, I am unsure of which part of the phone that actually needs replacement. What causes this problem and what needs to be replaced?

HTC Desire HD: How to fix the volume buttons?

Hi to all, I need to fix the volume buttoms. Those that are on the left side of DHD. When I push over button - it works fine....but, on the contrary, the button + is hardly demage. I must push strongly and sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes it work. If I give an attention look to this volume buttons bar, I can notice that the volume button + is more inside the DHD than the other one.

So Can I fix it or Have I substitute the bar?

How could I do it?

Thanks in advance

HTC Desire HD: How to replace the HTC Desire HD glass?

Hi,

I have a friend who has a Desire HTC HD with the broken glass. I know there are replacement parts except I can not find a guide for its removal.

The best would be a video or step by step guide. it's been a while since I try but without much success.

I fell several times on HTC Desire HD 2. It's the same model or it's completely different?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

HTC Desire HD: What layers and components does the screen consist of?

Edit: This is 11 years later, but I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me in this thread as I never wrote a conclusion.

I ordered a digitiser from eBay which cost ~$20 USD, spent a day disassembling the phone (quadruple-checking every step) and repaired my screen with zero issues!

All up I saved $155 because the quote a repair shop gave me was $175. The phone itself had only cost me $85 on top of a 24m plan so fixing it myself was the only realistic solution. Very grateful to iFixit and a bunch of YouTube videos made at the time.

What are the 'layers' that make up the screen of the phone?

From my lack of understanding, here is what it seems to be:

(Imagine the phone laying face up)

[Towards front of phone]

- Glass panel -

- Digitizer -

- LCD screen -

[Towards back of phone]

I'm guessing that's wrong however. Is there another plastic or glass layer somewhere in there? Is it out of order? Is the glass panel the LCD screen?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

digitiser display panels WVGA TFT touch touchscreen capacitive part component make up makeup make-up layer (this is just here to help with searches)
