HTC Desire: Everything works except touch screen

My phone turns on, sound and power buttons work. There are not any visual issues with the screen. It boots up and goes to the unlock screen like always, except the touch screen is not working. I do not want to sound dumb, but please tell me this is something simple like a loose connection, or there is some kind of reset I can do to recalibrate the touch recognition. Any input is appreciated!!!

HTC Desire: Htc desire 516 screen replacement

Good morning,

I just bought a complete assembly kit htc desire 516 (screen + touch digitizer). Looking a bit 'on the internet I noticed that in order to replace the piece, there is not much work to do. My question, however, is: in the piece that I bought, there are only two buses, while those of the main camera and the front are not available. How is the procedure of the replacement? Should I lose some functionality? Thanks for the attention and best regards

HTC Desire: Restoration of a 10+ year old HTC Desire

Hey everyone, first time asking here. So, I recently bought my third ever smartphone in the Galaxy S21, before which I used the S6 for over 5 years, and before that I used the HTC Desire for about 5 years as well. As you can tell, I’m not one to jump from phone to phone all the time, and I get attached to my devices. The HTC Desire is the first smartphone I ever had, and the other day I had the most intense nostalgia trip when I held it in my hand. I mean, I love that old mutt, no other way of putting it. On the first try, I actually got it to turn on, but it hasn’t been able to power back on since. As you can see from the photos, the battery doesn’t even fit properly and the plastic back only half fits, with the top end of it being damaged and unable to hinge in properly. When I plug the phone in, the little orange light that indicates it’s getting charged turns on, which I take it is a good sign, meaning the phone and the battery are communicating just fine, but when I try to power the phone on, all it does is keep flashing the bright white light with the green HTC logo on it (which is the start of the booting animation for the Desire) and then turning it back off again. So the phone won’t boot (although it did once, very recently as I said) and it has suffered some physical damage. Any way of recovering this baby into usability territory?

HTC Desire: Is my screen or my motherboard broken?

Hi!

Recently I have sat on my HTC 630 Dual Sim (ouch!). Part of the screen has been completely destroyed, the other part has become super glitchy, although the phone was still responsive and some actions could have been performed (i.e. typing in the password after 5 minutes). When I pressed the screen with my thumb , the glitches were reduced for the time being.

I decided to replace the screen and I have ordered a new one from AliExpress. The seller had very good comments, majority of them cotained the photo of the screen after the replacment.

Today, the screen was finally shipped to me. The replacement process went smoothly, I have followed instructions found online. Unfortunately, after the replacement, the screen is unusable (literally nothing is being displayed apart from one, wide stripe, picture attached). From the colors changing on the screen, I deducted that the touchscreen is responsive. I have switched back to the old screen which again is partly operational (despite heavy glitches).

My question is: how likely is it that I have recieved a broken screen from the seller? Is it possible that I have damaged the motherboard during the instalation? Are the observed screen glitches typical in former or/and latter scenario?

HTC Desire: Lcd pixles htc dead

Hi everybody,

I've changed the LCD+touch screen of my HTC desire 516. Once I connected the buses and I turned on the device, all seemed to work. So I re-assembled all the phone but when I turned on it again, a green/black spot appeared in the right corner of the screen. I'm pretty sure to have paid enough attention and to have not damaged any part. I noticed that if I press "strongly" on the screen, the screen becomes all white. I think they're not dead pixels, but I'd like to listen to your opinion. I'll attach the image of the LCD
