Hey I replaced the display, but the new display didn't come with a new fingerprint sensor so I transferred the old one and it doesn't seem to detect it. Has anyone had success transferring the fingerprint sensor?

HTC 10: best glue to attach LCD to body

Hi,

I’ve seen some reviews on best glues to attach LCDs to Digitizers, but I couldn’t find any for attaching LCD to body.

I used double sided adhesive tape and it did fine for some time but after a while it loses it’s stickiness and so the LCD gets lifted up from the body and dust sticks to the tapes and so the process repeats again.

I’d appreciate if you could share your skills.

HTC 10: Why is the htc not rebooting?

My phone was on 35%battery, put it to charge and it automatically switched off. Several attempts were made to get it powered up but no success.

I tried all the tricks with the toggle buttons, still nothing. The HTC android screen appears…then shuts downs again. The battery sign comes on showing 0% stays for a while then nothing. I tried several different charging cables no change in the phone.

The phone is only 18months old, however i have experienced a bootloop once before.

Any suggestions to fix would be greatly appreciated.

HTC 10: Back and recent apps buttons quit working

My phone forced a software update day before yesterday and now my back and recent apps "buttons" don't work most of the time. I have no idea if the two are related, but I've tried powering down and rebooting, restarting, I've looked through settings to see if something got changed inadvertently. Nothing has helped. This is extremely frustrating because I cannot cycle through or close open apps and my battery life already sucks. I would appreciate any help that can be given.

HTC 10: Water damaged my HTC, it stopped working after ~6 hours.

I had accidentally gotten my HTC 10 submerged in water. After I took it out, I immediately held it in a towel to dry it off while blowing on the charging port, speakers, headphone jack etc. to try to get the water out. I did not immediately try turning on my phone. I waited around 15-20 minutes (leaving it in a towel), and then attempted to power it on. It worked, but the phone wasn't working properly. After a while, the battery was low, so I proceeded to charge it. After that, it began rebooting and rebooting repeatedly until the phone completely ran out of battery. I have left it on the charger all night and now the phone won't even turn on.

Can this be solved by replacing the battery? Or has my phone already kicked the bucket? If so, does the warranty cover this? (Please don't lecture me about what I should've done, just tell me what I can do about it from here)

HTC 10: Bizarre touch screen responsiveness

I bought a used HTC 10 that said it had a dead touch screen zone at the bottom of the display. Using a drawing app you can see there is a half inch tall dead touch area that spans the entire display. Visually the LCD works. The odd thing is sometimes it is dead and sometimes it works. On HTC's Android 7 and 8 the bottom half inch of the screen doesn't work on the home screen or in apps but it 100% works for the keyboard. I installed Nova Launcher and the touch area started working on the home screen but still didn't work in apps. I thought maybe it was an issue with HTC Android so I flashed stock Android 10. The dead zone is gone on the pixel launcher home screen and the keyboard still works but the dead zone is still there in apps. I thought installing Android 10 would eliminate any software issues but it doesn't seem like it would be a hardware issue since the touch screen works 100% on the keyboard and homescreen. Any ideas what the issue might be? Thanks.

Can I only change digitizer and not the LCD? My screen top layer is broken, the digitizer and lcd are fine, I don't think there's any way to change the top glass without changing digitizer and touch screen.

the buttons work, however, they just do not light up. i’ve tried two different daughter boards, neither had the lights functioning. is this common after tear downs? is the rumor correct that the lights will never work again with the battery replacement? (and yes, i checked the battery super saver settings, all off).
