HP Slate 7 4601: How can I replace my HP Slate speakers?

I damage the speakers in my HP Slate and tried replacing them on my own but got stuck. I've gotten to the point in the disassembly where both speakers are unscrewed from the inside and are next to the charging port, but I can't seem to take them out. Am I missing something or are the speakers just stuck to the body of the tablet? I want to be careful not to break the charging port when I take them out. Or do I have to remove the charging port first? And if so, how?

HP Slate 7 4601: Not charging even after port replacement

Hi there

Had a friend take his Slate 7 in for repair as not charging, they "fixed" the port and it worked for a couple more days.

After this he asked me to take a look at it as it still wouldn't charge

The repair place rather than change the port tried some kind of jumper with copper wire.

I ordered a new port and attached it today to no avail. i've ordered a new battery and its on its way but any suggestions or advice as to the problem would be appreciated.
