<title><![CDATA[HP Scanjet 4890: How to repair the scanner light?]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I have this scanner and it appears to be physically operable except for the light, which does not turn on when scanning.  Software on the computer detects the scanner, sends instructions to begin scanning, the platen (?) moves across under the glass and &quot;data&quot; is received.  But without the light, the data is just a blank page.</p>

<p>Any pointers to maintenance manuals or instructions to repair would be very helpful.</p>
