On pressing power button my laptop power button and other wifi and speaker + chargin lights keeps on blinkg , but laptop is not turning on I have tried all possible methods, removed RAM , SSD, Pressed power button for 60 seconds, then plugged in power and turned on but nothing working, tried to flash new bios using usb , it is also not working

Any solution to this? I brought it to a repair shop and they said the keyboard circuit got a short in that key so it needs a full keyboard replacement. Is it possible to just replace a part or clean the circuit using isopropyl alcohol?

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with my HP ProBook 640 G5 internal display after a near-drop incident. Here’s exactly what happened:

The laptop and charger fell — I managed to catch the laptop, but the charger hit the ground.
Right after, both the internal and external screens went blank with white screen.
The external monitor recovered, but the laptop’s built-in screen remained blank.

What I’ve tried so far:

Disassembled the laptop and unplugged/replugged the display cable on both the screen side and the motherboard side.
Updated the BIOS, Intel graphics drivers, and display-related firmware.
Ran HP Hardware Diagnostics — the internal screen does not show up in detected devices.
Attempted to enter BIOS and UEFI diagnostics with only the internal screen connected — nothing displays.
Verified that the external screen works fine via HDMI, so the GPU is not dead.

Current symptoms:

No image, no backlight, and no faint picture on internal screen (even when using a flashlight).
Windows doesn’t detect the internal display.
Device Manager shows only the external monitor.
I’ve confirmed cable is seated properly, and no visible damage.

I’m trying to determine:

Could the internal screen panel be dead even though it wasn’t directly hit?
Could the LCD cable have been damaged internally during the jolt?
Is it possible the motherboard display circuit or eDP connector was affected?

Any advice on how to pinpoint the failed component would be really appreciated — I don’t want to replace parts blindly. If anyone has a pinout diagram for the display connector or voltage values to test with a multimeter, that would be helpful too.
