The BIOS password for this laptop is on a chip (non-volatile memory) so it’s almost impossible to reset.

It should be possible using the HPBR (HP bios reset utility) which creates a bootable DOS application.

I’m creating the bootable utility, but the device doesn’t seem to recognize is on any USB port. I’m stuck there. Any ideas?

The power button keeps coming on and off, along with the charging indicator... Whenever I plug it, the button lights come on and the hp interface comes up on the screen then it all goes off again. Above all these, it isn't booting at all. What could be the issue please, and how can I solve it?

On pressing power button my laptop power button and other wifi and speaker + chargin lights keeps on blinkg , but laptop is not turning on I have tried all possible methods, removed RAM , SSD, Pressed power button for 60 seconds, then plugged in power and turned on but nothing working, tried to flash new bios using usb , it is also not working

My pc was online and when I was installing Linux Ubuntu dual boot additional to windows the battery pluged out and when I opened it it gave me the error boot device not found (3FO), I checked the memory and harddisk status and It says passed

HP ProBook 655 Series: How come my laptop isn't booting?

So my device (HP Probook 655) has been acting strange it now doesn't boot while plugged up only when unplugged, it can charge however, it didn't start with just the charger no battery, and once it does finally lights up its about 4-8 seconds and it shuts off. It shuts off and the 2 ethernet lights, the charging light turns on and the computer shuts off. I've tried taking out the battery and holding down the power button then putting it back in. I opened it up and found the storage drive moving around so i put it back in place still did not boot. Did not send power to my mouse and the fans didn't start spinning. Nothing was on except the power button light and the other light on the side of the laptop.

Anyone knows whats wrong with it?

Any solution to this? I brought it to a repair shop and they said the keyboard circuit got a short in that key so it needs a full keyboard replacement. Is it possible to just replace a part or clean the circuit using isopropyl alcohol?
