HP Pavilion dv2000: PLEASE HELP! Beeping and black screen when laptop turned on

OK, I've had this laptop (HP pavilion dv2000) for a while now, and I have no idea what happened. Recently, when I turn it on, all the lights turn on—but after around 5 seconds, it beeps loudly four times. Also, the screen is completely black—nothing pops up. The black screen goes on forever. If anybody has had this problem or knows how to fix it, I would be extremely grateful for your help with this problem. I have no idea what to do. Thanks.

HP Pavilion dv9000: What is the cause of multiple hard drive failures?

The HP Pavilion dv9000 is not the oldest computer out there. About 4 months ago, the stock hard drive (about 2 years old) began making scratching noises and such, so I went out and bought an external to back it up, as well as a new Western Digital WD Scorpio Black 500 GB 7200 RPM (the "desktop-performance" laptop hard drives).

So I tried backing it up with the external, but the old drive died mid back up, and it was completely dead.

I installed the new hard drive, and hooked it up with Windows 7, but even 2 weeks in, I started having start up problems. Windows would fail to start up occasionally, and I had to do start-up repair a few times. 2 months in, Windows failed again, I started start-up repair, and it didn't work. I went into the hard drive self-check, it passed the quick test, but received an "error #10009: replace hard disk" from the comprehensive check.

I know that means I need to replace it again, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what could cause this. Did I just get unlucky with 2 bad hard drives, or is there something else that could cause this?

HP dv5-1125nr: Won't turn on with battery in after it been sitting a while

First off the model is dv6-7210us, but that was not one of my choices on here.

I have a weird scenario. I bought a new battery for this laptop. When you first plug in the battery and press power it works fine. The battery reads and charges. However, if you leave it sit shut off for like an hour or more then press power nothing happens. It doesn't matter if the power cord is plugged in or not. I have to pull the battery out and either plug it back in or just run it off the power cord to turn it on. Can't seem to figure this out. This is something I am donating to a learning facility for kids with reading problems. I need this to work right.

HP Pavilion dv7: Can I replace the ATI Radeon HD 6370 card on my laptop?

I have an HP pavilion dv7 with a Radeon HD 6370 video card that has been intermittently crashing, but now the problem is worsening. I have scanned the various troubleshooting recommendations and have determined, to the best of my ability, that:

1. The card crashes when the computer is cold or hot, but more frequently when the computer has been on for a few hours.

2. Windows researched the cause of a crash a while back and informed me that the error was caused by the ATI card.

3. I am using the most up-to-date driver.

4. My spouse is an electrical/computer engineer and is going to replace the card if I can purchase another one. To that end, I have these questions:

+ Is the card a standalone or is it soldered onto the motherboard?

+ Is there another card that might be more reliable that I can purchase instead?

+ Where can I purchase a replacement card?

Thank you.
